PHILADELPHIA 76ERS vs. NEW YORK KNICKS BETTING PREDICTION

The Knicks posted a 134-128 overtime loss to the Clippers last night, which for the most part, falls in line with their recent lackluster level of production, considering New York is now 3-7 in their last ten games, while ranking 25th in the league in net rating during that stretch (-4.9 NetRtg).

This New York team is excellent at the offensive end of the floor, and that remains to be the case moving forward, despite their latest shortcomings. The Knicks rank 7th in the league in offensive rating on the season (116 ORtg), and they also rank 10th across their latest 3-7 skid (117.6 ORtg). 

However, their defensive play has been absolutely abysmal as of late, considering the Knicks stooped down to 28th in defensive rating during their latest ten-game stretch, and in order to rise up and challenge top shelf squads in the East like Philly, they’ll have to kick it into gear at the other end sometime soon.

While on the other hand, the Sixers are one of the most well-balanced teams in the league, currently ranked Top 6 in the league in both offensive and defensive rating (115.6 ORtg, 111.5 DRtg), and they’ve been red-hot recently, considering they’re now 22-5 in their last 27 games, which is the best mark in the entire league during that timeframe.

At the moment, the Knicks are committed to a run-and-gun style of play with very little emphasis on defense, which often plays into their strengths, and works out for them whenever they’re the more talented team on the floor. 

But unfortunately, the problem for New York in this matchup is the fact that Philly stands toe-to-toe with them at their strong suit, and when you combine that with the Sixers’ ENORMOUS advantage at the defensive end, this one has the looks of another lopsided affair in favor of Doc Rivers’ team.
