Week 13 of the NFL season continues with what has the makings of a lopsided non-conference tilt between the Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders. The betting odds see Washington as a 9.5-point home underdog coming off losses in five of their last six games. Coverage begins from FedExField in Landover, Maryland on Sunday, December 3 at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX.

Miami Dolphins vs Washington Commanders Odds

• Opening point spread: Dolphins -8.5
• Opening moneyline: Dolphins -450/Commanders +350
• Opening total: Over/Under 49 points scored
• Time: 1 p.m. ET Sunday (FOX)

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET FRIDAY: The Dolphins advanced from -9 to -9.5 Monday at BetMGM and haven't moved since. Ticket count is almost 2/1 and money beyond 9/1 on Miami.

The total opened at 49.5, went to 50.5 Monday, bottomed out at 49 Thursday and is now 49.5. The Under is seeing 58% of tickets/52% of money.

UPDATE 10 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Miami (8-3 SU/7-4 ATS) looked like it would go to halftime with just a 10-6 lead against the reeling New York Jets. But the Dolphins' Jevon Holland picked off a final-seconds Hail Mary and stunningly returned it 99 yards for a touchdown to give Miami a 17-6 lead.

The Dolphins never looked back, rolling to a 34-13 victory as 9.5-point road favorites in a Week 12 Friday game.

Meanwhile, Washington (4-8 SU/5-6-1 ATS) was dealt its third straight loss and fifth in six games. The Commanders traveled to Dallas on Thanksgiving and got trucked 45-10 as 13-point underdogs.

"Washington has just looked awful the last couple of weeks," Michaelson said, before addressing Dolphins-Commanders. "We closed Miami -7 on the lookahead, re-opened -8.5 [tonight], and the market went to -9 soon after opening. This will be a case of how high can we go before we get sharp resistance.

"So many people with a public forum will say the words 'I like Miami in a teaser spot" this week that it will make my brain hurt. We will be rooting for the Washington professional American football team."

Dolphins vs Commanders Pick, Prediction

Action Network NFL betting expert Brandon Anderson offers this prediction:

Miami's offense actually hasn't been as good after that torrid start, but this could be the perfect get-right spot.

Not that Tyreek Hill really needs a get-right spot. He's been shredding opponents all season, is still on pace to break the all-time receiving record and is producing so well that his traditional over/under is at a ridiculous 97.5 yards this week. I'm not sure books have caught up to Hill's spike in TDs, though. He leads the league in that category this year with at least one score in nine of 11 games (82%), including all eight Miami wins. At -125, we're getting 55.6% implied instead, leaving huge value.

If you've got bet365, you should also nibble 150+ receiving yards at +825. That's an implied 10.8% hit rate for a guy who has already had 146+ yards in five games this season and is playing the worst pass defense in the league.
