UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: The Packers were short favorites in BetMGM's NFL odds Week 5 market. Green Bay opened -1, got to -2 for a few hours Monday, receded to -1.5 (-115), then went to -1 Wednesday.

On Thursday, the line made the modest fence-jump to Raiders -1, where it remains now. Likely contributing to that move was the expectation that QB Jimmy Garoppolo would be back under center. And indeed, this afternoon, Las Vegas announced that Garoppolo cleared concussion protocol and will start Monday night.

Still, spread ticket count is 2.5/1 and spread money 2/1 on the Packers.

The total climbed from 43.5 to 44 to 44.5 by Monday and is unchanged since. Ticket count is 3/1 and money 5/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Green Bay (2-2 SU/3-1 ATS) saw some sharp money as a short home 'dog in the Week 3 Thursday nighter. But the Packers were never in it, falling behind Detroit 27-3 by halftime of a 34-20 loss catching 2.5 points.

Las Vegas (1-3 SU and ATS) was a 6.5-point road pup against the L.A. Chargers and lost 24-17.

Packers vs Raiders Pick, Prediction

Action Network NFL betting expert Brandon Anderson offers this prediction:

The Packers are ready to get the bad taste out of their mouths after the ugly Thursday night loss to the Lions, and the Raiders might be just the solution. This time Green Bay shouldn't see a slew of late injury scratches on a short week — just the opposite, hopefully — and the Raiders are no Lions.

Las Vegas ranks second to last in Offensive DVOA and dead last running the football, negating Green Bay's perennial bugaboo defensively, and the Raiders defense looks ripe for the picking, especially against the pass. Jordan Love should rebound with a big game as long as the line gives him time, and Green Bay should get some positive turnover regression too.

I love this bounce back spot for Green Bay in a game that remindse me a lot of last Monday. The road team, Seattle, was far better and proved it quickly in a blowout win over a bad Giants squad and I see a similar result here. Matt LaFleur is 14-4 ATS (78%) after a loss and 16-5 ATS (80% as an underdog, including 13-7 straight up. He's only a slight dog here, enough that it's more profitable to just grab the +100 moneyline.

The injury unknowns are too high to make this a best bet yet, but it may be one of my top plays of the week if we get good news. It's still possible the Packers could luck into a game against Aidan O'Connell too.
