2022 CAROLINA PANTHERS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

Carolina finished dead last the NFC South with a record of 5-12 SU last season, and while the Panthers ultimately wound up at the bottom of the barrel within the division, doom and gloom wasn’t always on the season forecast, considering Carolina posted a solid 5-5 SU start before dropping seven straight contests to close out the regular season.

It’s tough to completely write off Carolina ahead of this season, considering All-Pro RB Christian McCaffrey participated in just 7-of-17 games last year, with four of those performances coming in a limited capacity (11.8 CAR, 5.3 REC); and three of them coming in the absence of QB Sam Darnold.

However, even with the addition of former Browns' QB Baker Mayfield though, Carolina is still a decent ways away from competing for an NFC South title, but the Panthers should be much healthier this time around; and while they don’t stand much of a chance against Super Bowl contenders like Tampa Bay, they boast far more upside than other NFC bottom-dwellers like the Lions, Giants, and Seahawks.

Carolina’s win total is stationed at OU 5.5 with a hefty lean towards the over at -200; and while personally, I’m not intrigued by the idea of a long-term play at such a steep price point, the Panthers should have a decent shot at clearing that bar with winnable matchups against the Lions, Giants, Seahawks, Falcons (2), and Saints (2) on this year’s slate.

CAROLINA PANTHERS ODDS TO WIN NFC SOUTH

The Panthers are listed at +1000 to win the NFC South, which doesn’t carry much value unless Tampa Bay falls off the face of the planet and Carolina happens to win a three-team scramble against the Falcons and Saints; and I don’t exactly love their odds in that scenario either.

CAROLINA PANTHERS ODDS TO WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

Carolina is listed at +6600 to win the NFC, and while it’s a bit respectful to categorize them amongst the Giants (+4000) Bears (+4000), Lions (+6600), and Seahawks, none of these squads pose a legitimate threat to the conference crown this season.

The Panthers are listed at +12500 to win this year’s Super Bowl, and while I still don’t believe their odds deservedly dwell amongst the Jaguars (+10000), Giants (+10000), Lions (+12500), Jets (+12500), and Seahawks (+12500); Carolina probably isn’t worthy of a preseason title sprinkle unless your an avid defender of Mayfield.

Nobody on the Panthers is expected to compete for this year’s MVP award, however, an argument can certainly be made for McCaffrey to win Comeback Player of the Year after missing 10 games last season; and while Derrick Henry (+300) rightfully enters as the preseason favorite, the best value on board seemingly belongs to McCaffrey at +900, who tallied 2,392 total yards and 19 TD's in his last full season of action.

CAROLINA PANTHERS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+450) | No (-650)

Generally speaking, Carolina probably won’t make the playoffs, but with the expanded postseason format and a new face under center this time around, I naturally gravitate towards the Panthers making the playoffs at +475 as opposed to paying the steep price of -700 to miss the postseason.
