2022 New England Patriots Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Patriots finished second in the AFC East with a record of 10-7 last season, which earned the second Wild Card spot in the conference and a playoff rematch against the division champs in Buffalo; however, the Bills quickly asserted a 27-3 lead in the first half of their postseason rubber match, and New England simply couldn’t stop the bleeding (L, 47-17).

The final result was ultimately disappointing, but overall, the Patriots still put together a solid campaign with rookie QB Mac Jones at the helm, as the Patriots’ offense finished the year ranked 7th in scoring and 10th in yardage per play in his first NFL season (26.6 PPG, 5.7 YPP).

However, the Patriots’ identity irrefutably resides with defense under head coach Bill Belichick, highlighted by New England ranking 3rd in points allowed and 7th total yardage allowed last season (19.4 PPG, 320 YPG); which should almost always place them at the forefront of the playoff hunt.

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 8.5 (-120)
  • Under 8.5 (-110)

The Patriots’ win total is stationed at OU 8.5 with a slight lean towards the over at -120; which strikes me as a surprisingly low bar with New England drawing favorable matchups against the Lions, Bears, Steelers, Vikings, Colts, Raiders, Jets (2) and Dolphins (2) this season; especially after going 10-7 against a much tougher schedule last year.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ODDS TO WIN AFC EAST

+400

New England and Miami are deadlocked at +400 for the second-best odds to win the AFC East, with the Bills (-190) coming in as the second heaviest division favorite on the board behind Tampa Bay to win the NFC South (-300); which is solid value for a squad that went 10-7 and finished just one game short of Buffalo for the AFC East crown last season.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ODDS TO WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+2000

The Patriots are listed at +2000 to win the AFC, which serves as the caboose of the middle tiers alongside the Dolphins (+1600), Titans (+1600), Raiders, and Steelers before dropping off to distant longshot territory beyond +4000; and while Tennessee actually strikes me as the better play in this department, getting New England at the same price as the Raiders and Dolphins is still solid value.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+3500

The Patriots are listed at +4000 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which is tied with the Vikings, Saints, and Raiders for the 18th best odds to win the title; and while New England ultimately crashed and burned with a 1-4 SU skid to close last season, a Patriots’ Super Bowl is still far more fathomable than the other three squads in the bunch.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 2022 MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Mac Jones (QB) +5000

Mac Jones is listed at +5000 to win this year’s MVP award, which ranks alongside Trey Lance (+4000), Kirk Cousins (+5000), Matt Ryan (+5000), and Tua Tagovailoa (+5000) near the bottom of the starting QB totem pole; and while the odds certainly aren’t in his favor, Jones winning MVP would still be the least surprising option among that group.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+150) | No (-180)

New England earned the sixth seed in the AFC with a record of 10-7 last season, as the Patriots entered Week 15 well within striking distance of the division title (9-4), yet choked it away with a 1-3 skid down the homestretch; and while they probably won’t contend for the division crown against Buffalo, +150 to make the playoffs is still solid value for a squad that’s reached 12 of the last 13 postseasons.
