After stumbling out to an ugly 0-3 start that consisted of losses to the Broncos, Falcons, and Washington, the Giants stared down the barrel of another potentially lost campaign, as New York begrudgingly prepared to square off against the Saints, Cowboys, Rams, and Panthers in its ensuing set of matchups.

The Giants played some decent football across their latest window though, considering New York pulled off stunning upset victories over the Panthers and Saints in Weeks 4 and 7 – and even showed signs of life during losing performances against the Cowboys and Rams in Weeks 5 and 6.

On the other hand, Kansas City is off to a head-scratching start to the new season, considering the Chiefs currently find themselves tied with Denver for last place in the AFC West with an incredibly underwhelming record of 3-4.

Personally, my faith in Kansas City is still yet to waver though, considering the Chiefs drew one of the toughest opening schedules in recent memory, which included matchups against the Browns, Ravens, Chargers, Bills, and Titans – and that should be worth noting ahead of Monday’s favorable matchup.

I’ll lay the points with Kansas City here, as despite the Chiefs rough start, Patrick Mahomes and company have still dominated the NFC East this year (2-0), highlighted by a pair of double-digit victories over Philadelphia and Washington (+30) – and that trend will likely continue for them with a big win Giants on Monday night.

The Chiefs head into Monday night’s contest favored by roughly 10 points over the visiting Giants – marking the heaviest spread for a matchup containing either of these teams so far this season.

The total for Monday’s affair is stationed near OU 52 at most shops, which marks the lowest number set for a Chiefs’ game this year – and the second-highest number for a Giants’ game.

Several teams around the league could make the argument for consistently suffering the worst injury luck, but none other than the Giants, considering Pro-Bowl RB Saquon Barkley is still sidelined with an ankle injury that he picked up in Week 5 – while WR’s Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepherd, Darius Slayton, and Kadarius Toney have all missed significant time with their respective issues.

That being said, the Giants still admirably competed against tough opponents the last four weeks, as New York drew consecutive matchups against the Saints, Cowboys, Rams, and Panthers – and somehow escaped with victories in two of those affairs.

New York’s two losses across that timeframe came by 24 points or more though, as the Rams and Cowboys’ dynamic offensive attacks seemingly ran New York right out of the building (-52), which is ultimately how I envision Monday night’s contest playing out as well.

Kansas City Chiefs Betting Analysis

The Chiefs’ 3-4 start obviously isn’t an ideal situation for the reigning AFC champs, considering Kansas City previously posted three straight perfect 4-0 starts before this season.

I hate to make excuses for powerhouses like Kansas City, but the Chiefs’ schedule was absolutely ruthless to kick off the year, highlighted by matchups against Cleveland, Baltimore, L.A., Buffalo, and Tennessee – and I expect to see them slowly settle into a rhythm against weaker opponents like the Giants.

After getting blown out in Tennessee last week (L, 27-3), the Chiefs will head back to Kansas City for their Week 8 Monday Night Football matchup favored by roughly 10 points over the visiting Giants – marking the largest number Any Reid’s squad has been favored by this year.

I’ll lay the points with Kansas City here, as the Chiefs’ offense seems way overdue for a massive bounce- back performance on a prime-time stage – which is why I’m also backing Mahomes to throw three touchdown passes at plus odds in Monday night’s affair.
