New Orleans Saints vs. Tennessee Titans Predictions

After stumbling out to a somewhat pedestrian 2-2 start to the season, the Titans appeared to finally find their rhythm on offense in Week 5, as Tennessee racked up an average of 35.5 PPG on 365 YPG across a pair of commanding victories over the Jaguars and Bills.

Tennessee hasn’t looked back since then either, considering the Titans enter Week 10 riding a five-game winning streak – which most recently includes impressive victories over the Chiefs, Colts, and Rams. On the other hand, the Saints were incredibly inconsistent with new QB Jameis Winston under center to kick things off, as New Orleans alternated wins and losses through Weeks 1 through 4 – before eventually riding a three-game winning streak to the end of October.

Winston suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 8 though, which left backup QB Trevor Siemian to start New Orleans’ latest matchup – and things didn’t go so well, as Siemian threw for 249 YDS on 60.9% CMP during the Saints’ discouraging loss to Atlanta last week (L, 27-25).

I’ll lay the points with the Titans here, as Tennessee still looked like an excellent offensive unit withoutDerrick Henry in the backfield last week while New Orleans struggled immensely in Siemian’s first start of the year.

New Orleans Saints Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 5-3
  • ATS: 4-4
  • O/U: 4-4
  • ATS - Home: 2-2
  • ATS - Away: 2-2

After posting a somewhat underwhelming 2-2 start to the year, the Saints appeared to be slowly figuring things out with Winston at the helm, considering New Orleans closed out the month of October sitting at 5-2 – while boasting an impressive resume of wins over the Packers, Buccaneers, and Seahawks.

New Orleans’ offense was all over the place as Siemian made his first start last Sunday though – so it’s probably best to steer clear of the Saints until we can get a better gauge on what to expect from their offense with Siemian under center.

Tennessee Titans Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 7-2
  • ATS: 7-2
  • O/U: 5-4
  • ATS - Home: 3-1
  • ATS - Away: 4-1

After opening the season 2-2 start with losses to the Jets and Cardinals, Tennessee finally gained steam in early October, as the Titans blew out Jacksonville 37-19 in Week 5 – which quickly snowballed into consecutive upset victories over the Bills (+6), Chiefs (+4), Colts (+3), and Rams (+7) in their ensuing four affairs.

Tennessee’s worst nightmare became a frightening reality in Week 9 though, as the Titans’ All-Pro RB exited with an apparent foot issue during Tennessee’s thrilling overtime win over the Colts – ultimately landing Henry on IR with a somewhat ambiguous timetable for return.

It didn’t matter against the Rams though, as Tennessee ended up pulling off its most impressive upset of the year without Henry on the road last Sunday (W, 28-16)

The Titans have gone UNDER the point total in four of their last five home games. (AP)

New Orleans Saints vs. Tennessee Titans Betting Conclusion

After extending their winning streak to five games with a win over the Rams last week, the Titans enter Sunday afternoon’s contest as roughly a field goal favorite over the visiting Saints – marking the first time Tennessee has been favored in a matchup since Week 5.

I’ll lay the points with the Titans here, as Tennessee appeared very comfortable during its transition to a more pass-heavy attack against the Rams last week – which is why I’m also backing Ryan Tannehill to have a solid day through the air as well.
