SNF Buccaneers vs. Cowboys Player Prop Best Bet

Prop betting expert Stuart Durst is back on the gridiron to give out his top play for Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, September 11. Check out his prediction below, along with other VI Expert Picks!

This year's Sunday Night Football game gives us a rematch of last years opening night game. Last year gave us an electric 31-29 Buccaneers win to kick off the season. While I’m not sure this game will have that kind of offense, both of these teams have a lot to prove. A lot has been made of both of these teams in the offseason, with Tom Brady missing practice and losing a couple offensive lineman in the process. The Cowboys also lost an offensive lineman, along with being criticized for losing Amari Cooper, and not adequately replacing him.

Buccaneers vs. Cowboys Player Prop Pick

  • Dalton Schultz (DAL) Over 39.5 Receiving Yards
  • Leonard Fournette (TMB) Over 14.5 Receiving Yards

Payout: -120

To be honest, I’m not partially high on either of these teams, I think this game could surprise plenty of people. The Cowboys pass rush is the strength, and they will need to pressure Brady with that weaker o-line to win this game.

While I still think there is a lot to learn about how both of these teams are going to operate this season, I think this is one one of the safest combos possible. We just talked about the pressure Dallas is likely to bring - who better then Leonard Fournette to continue his high volume pass catching role from last season. Playoff Leonard put up phenomenal numbers last season, recording 15+ yards in 14 of 15 games and averaging 5.2 receptions per game. He went 5-27 (7 targets) against Dallas last season, and I expect similar production again on Sunday night.

Dalton Schultz has established himself as a top tight end, and Dallas is going to need all the pass catching help they can get. This Tampa Bay defense is notorious for their rush defense, causing an insane 58 pass attempts from Dak last season.

While they should come down a bit, we can still expect this team to be throwing plenty, and Schultz clearly benefited from that going 6-45 - despite playing with Cooper, Gallup, and Jarwin. When Jarwin went down with injury in Week 9, Schultz’s production increased running a route on 85% of Dak’s drop backs. Cooper and Gallup are now out of the fold, and I could see a 10-target game for the tight end.
