BUFFALO BILLS vs. BALTIMORE RAVENS BETTING PREDICTION

The Bills and Ravens meet for the first time since Jan. 16, 2021, a 17-3 victory by the Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, which saw Buffalo advance 17-3 in a low-scoring game. The Bills defense contained Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, as he passed for just 162 yards, no touchdowns and a pick-six interception, while running for just 34 yards. On the flip side, the Ravens did a pretty good job on QB Josh Allen, too, holding him to 206 yards, a touchdown and no picks while running for just three yards. Methinks both players will have bigger games in this regular-season battle.

It's the first time the Bills and Ravens have met in the regular season since Dec. 18, 2019, a 24-17 win by the Ravens, and it's the first time the teams have met in Baltimore since Sept. 9, 2018, a 47-3 rout by the Ravens. That sounds pretty bad, but that was an important game for both teams, actually. The Ravens started QB Joe Flacco that afternoon, and the Bills used QB Nathan Peterman as the starter. Head coach Sean McDermott turned to Allen late in that game, down 40-0, seeing his first NFL action. He started the next week, and the rest is history in Buffalo. That game was actually Jackson's first taste of NFL action, although it took until mid-November of 2018 before Jackson would see his first real meaningful action.

Anyway, hopefully, you'll see Allen and Jackson battling for many years to come for their respective teams, and they'll always be intertwined by this strange piece of trivia, seeing their first NFL action together in the same blowout game.

This one won't be a blowout, and should be a track meet, with each QB using his skillset to make things happen. In the end, Buffalo has the better skill position players, especially at receiver, and will pull out the win on the road.

Score Prediction: Bills 27, Ravens 24
Best Bet: Bills ML (-145)

BUFFALO BILLS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Bills are looking to bounce back from a 21-19 setback in South Florida against the rival Miami Dolphins, suffering their first loss of the season. It was also Buffalo's first non-cover of the season as the UNDER moved to 2-1.

Buffalo's offense is still No. 1 in passing yards per game at 329.0, No. 2 in the NFL with 441.3 total yards per game and No. 3 in points scored at 30.3 PPG. In addition, the Bills D has been banging, allowing just 214.0 yards per game to rank No. 1, while checking in No. 2 in both passing yards per game (156.3) and rushing yards per game (57.7). However, expect Jackson to be a huge test for the D, and those numbers. Buffalo is also yielding just 12.7 PPG, good for a difference of 17.6 PPG between their offensive output.

Buffalo hasn't had many long stretches of not covering. In fact, it is 7-1-1 ATS in the past nine following a non-cover, while going 6-1-1 ATS in the past eight following a straight-up loss. It is also 6-2-1 ATS in the past nine games overall, although just 2-5 ATS in the past seven against teams with a winning record.

The OVER is 4-1 in the past five against teams with a winning record, but the UNDER is 10-3 in the past 13 following a straight-up loss.

BALTIMORE RAVENS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Ravens also suffered a loss at the hands of the Dolphins, collapsing in the fourth quarter in a 42-38 loss in Week 2 as QB Tua Tagovailoa went bonkers. The Ravens regrouped nicely, taking it to the New England Patriots by a 37-26 score in Foxboro last weekend.

Jackson leads the NFL with 10 passing touchdowns, and the 2019 MVP, might be off to a better start than that special season. But the Bills defense will be a huge test and hurdle, as he tries to keep his team from slipping to .500. It helps that Baltimore is at home. He has really developed a nice rapport with WRs Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay, as well as TE Mark Andrews, but this is easily the best competition either of those two wideouts have faced to date.

The Ravens are an impressive 9-4 ATS in the past 13 games against winning teams, but just 11-27-1 ATS in the past 39 in the month of October, and 2-9 ATS in the past 11 following a cover in the previous game.
