Packers vs. Bills Player Prop Pick
- Christian Watson (GB) Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+390)
After our Khalil Herbet hit last week, I've been on the lookout for longer odds touchdown bets. While I thought we were going to cash our thursday night bet on Cade Otton, he had a catch that was a touchdown but called back for a penalty. That being said, we have an interesting matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills.
One of the most common stats floating around this week is the fact that Aaron Rodgers has never been a 10-point dog before. There are arguments that Rodgers just isn't the same guy anymore, and despite the lack of receiving options this whole offense looks bad. There has been puzzling usage from the running backs, with Aaron Jones performing well but not seeing many touches. The Bills on the other hand have lived up to expectations this year. Josh Allen is having the MVP season everyone hoped for, and they have been cruising at home this year. Both teams are at very different places, will be interesting to see how much the desperation fuels the Packers.
Christian Watson is currently questionable on the injury report, but there is a chance he’s ruled out and this bet is voided. LaFleur says that he is “cautiously optimistic” that he will play on Sunday, but looking towards the injury report can give us some context clues. The Packers have already ruled out Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, meaning Romeo Doubs is the only real threatening wide receiver on the team. Watson likely will be on a snap count, but the WR2 on a team that is likely going to be trailing is worth a bet at +390.
Packers OC Adam Stenavich said, “But ya, he brings an element to our offense we haven't had the last few weeks”. He is traditionally a deep ball receiver so he will have the opportunity to get these downfield targets, but they also have him heavily involved in the screen game. They have shown willingness to use him in creative ways this season, and I think that's exactly what they are going to need in a tough matchup vs the Bills.
