Week 13 NFL Top Teaser Plays

Welcome in to a brand-new piece of weekly content that will be showcased here at VegasInsider: Weekly Teaser Plays! Every week, I'll come in and give my three favorite teaser legs for you to bet on and some reasoning behind the play.

For those who are new, a teaser is a special type of bet where, in exchange for the odds on a play being drastically reduced, you can bet on a specific line at a much more favorable number. For instance, if my Philadelphia Eagles are a 7-point favorite this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, you can tease that line down to a 1-point favorite in exchange for the odds going down.

You can't play 1 teaser leg by itself, you have to accompany it with at least one other line, and a 2-team 6 point teaser (which is standard) would pay about -120 odds, meaning that if you put $120 on the play and it hit, you would win $100.

Let's dive right into my three favorite teaser legs for this weekend's slate!

Seahawks -1 vs. Los Angeles Rams

This game just feels like one that fits into Pete Carroll's wheelhouse of what he wants to do. He's going to establish the run with Kenneth Walker against an Aaron Donald-less Rams squad, he'll dial up pressure on backup quarterback John Wolford, and he'll generally make it hard for them to establish any rhythm whatsoever.

With the Rams so banged up this season, I'm fully expecting Sean McVay to not have his foot on the gas in this game, as the Rams will most likely join the unfortunate group that wins the Super Bowl yet misses the playoffs the following season.

Jacksonville Jaguars/Detroit Lions Over 45

The Jaguars and Lions are both set up pretty similarly defensively in that they don't allow a ton of yards on the ground in recent weeks but they have each been hammered through the air. The Jaguars allow the 8th-most passing yards, while the Lions allow the 5th-most, and both teams have been predominantly shifting towards pass-heavy in recent weeks.

Both Christian Kirk and Amon-Ra St. Brown have been very busy in their last few games, and each of these teams struggle against slot receivers, so we could see both of them have big yardage days. With the way Trevor Lawrence has been playing recently, this could be a 30-point day for the Jags.

Titans +10.5 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

As much as it pains me, I'm taking the Titans to cover this last teaser leg. The Titans are pretty much the perfect matchup for the Eagles, as they just prefer to run the ball down team's throats with Derrick Henry and their rushing defense will stop teams in their tracks, exactly the two sides that the Eagles covet.

Despite the Eagles quieting down their rushing defense struggles in the past couple weeks after signing Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh, teams are still choosing to run the ball on them, and I worry that Henry completely runs them down and throws the offensive motion out of whack early, forcing the Eagles into a throw-first mindset that doesn't really suit them.
