Week 15 Top NFL Teaser Plays

Welcome in to a brand-new piece of weekly content that will be showcased here at VegasInsider: Weekly Teaser Plays! Every week, I'll come in and give my three favorite teaser legs for you to bet on and some reasoning behind the play.

For those who are new, a teaser is a special type of bet where, in exchange for the odds on a play being drastically reduced, you can bet on a specific line at a much more favorable number. For instance, if my Philadelphia Eagles are a 7-point favorite this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, you can tease that line down to a 1-point favorite in exchange for the odds going down.

You can't play 1 teaser leg by itself, you have to accompany it with at least one other line, and a 2-team 6 point teaser (which is standard) would pay about -120 odds, meaning that if you put $120 on the play and it hit, you would win $100.

Let's dive right into my three favorite teaser legs for this weekend's slate!

Eagles -3 @ Chicago Bears

The Eagles are now making their fourth straight appearance in this article, and still haven't lost yet, so away we go! This week, they face off against Justin Fields and the Bears, who have been one of the worst defensive teams in football over the past month or so. They especially struggle to defend the run here so the 12-1 Eagles should have a clear game plan: chew the clock, methodically move the ball, and keep it out of Fields' hands, who has been equally dangerous himself lately.

Ravens +8.5 @ Cleveland Browns

This Ravens line is reading a lot like my lean towards them in last week's article. The Browns are not a good team, and they don't matchup up well with the Ravens either. They're one of the worst rush defenses by DVOA in the NFL, and with Tyler Huntley back, I once again expect the plan to be simple: Run the ball with your three great runners in JK Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Huntley, and force Deshaun Watson, who has not seemed to shake off the rust yet, to throw the ball against your ballhawking defense.

Sure, Baltimore has struggled to defend passing situations against wide receivers, but the Browns are much better suited to playing games where they control the clock with their rushing attack.

Bills -0.5 vs. Dolphins

The Bills will have revenge on the brain for this game, as they want to get back at the Fins for defeating them earlier this season. The Dolphins are on a bit of a losing streak themselves going into this one, as the blueprint for how to slow down Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa was shown clearly by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this month.

Getting this number down to a pick'em was key here, as the Bills have shown some weaknesses of their own offensively lately but still have one of the best defenses in the league and Josh Allen to take apart the weaker secondary of Miami.
