Brighton vs Newcastle Preview
Brighton | Draw | Newcastle |
15/8 | 27/10 | 13/10 |
Brighton have little to play for now, but the same can't be said of Newcastle. Currently occupying fourth place, a win today would leave them within touching distance of Champions League qualification. But if they lose and Chelsea and Forest both win, they'll slip out of the top five.
Brighton won last time out, claiming a 3-2 victory over West Ham, but their poor form previously saw them drop out of European contention. Newcastle's form is stunning, having won six of their previous seven Premier League games. When the sides last met, Brighton prevailed in the FA Cup. The last Premier League game between the sides ended 1-0 to the Seagulls.
Brighton will be without Pedro for the game, as he's suspended, plus Georginio Rutter, James Milner, and Ferdi Kadioglu are sidelined with injury. Newcastle's Joelinton has travelled to Brazil for specialist treatment and will be out for the season, plus long-term absentee Jamaal Lascelles is still unavailable.
Prediction
Newcastle have been fantastic recently and thoroughly deserve their place among the Champions League hopefuls. But Brighton got back on track last weekend and will hope to push on from there. Newcastle are favourites, but this could be a tough trip to the South Coast for them.
Our Premier League Prediction: Brighton 2-2 Newcastle
West Ham vs Tottenham Preview
West Ham | Draw | Tottenham |
1/1 | 11/4 | 5/2 |
Other than Manchester United, no two teams have been as disappointing as West Ham and Spurs this season. They occupy the two places above the relegation zone, but while West Ham have nothing to play for, Tottenham at least have the prospect of potential Europa League glory to keep them going.
West Ham come into the clash having not won in seven matches, with their last outing a 3-2 loss to Brighton. Spurs have lost their last three Premier League games, although won against Bodo/Glimt in midweek in the Europa League. When the sides last met, Spurs walked to a 4-1 victory.
The Hammers will be without Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio, although Edson Alvarez has a chance of being fit for kickoff. Spurs have lost Lucas Bergvall for the season, while Dominic Solanke and James Maddison picked up knocks in midweek and will probably be rested. Son Heung-min also remains out, alongside Radu Dragusin.
Prediction
Both these teams have been terrible this season. On paper, Spurs should easily win, but consistent defensive mistakes have plagued them this season. West Ham will hope home-field advantage assists them, plus they'll be hoping the Tottenham players have their eyes on next Thursday's Europa League match.
Our Premier League Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
Chelsea vs Liverpool Preview
Chelsea | Draw | Liverpool |
11/10 | 27/10 | 9/4 |
The biggest clash of the day takes place at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea welcome newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool. While Liverpool have nothing to play for, Chelsea will be desperate for the three points to boost their chances of Champions League football next season.
Chelsea have been on a decent run of form, not losing in their last five Premier League games. Liverpool have also been playing well, as you'd expect from the Premier League champions, winning their previous three matches in the competition. Last time the sides met, Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners.
Chelsea will be without several injured players for the game, with Christopher Nkunku, Robert Sanchez, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Wesley Fofana, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Aaron Anselmino all out. Liverpool only have one absentee, with Joe Gomez not fit to take part.
Prediction
This should be a competitive game, especially as Chelsea really need the three points. Liverpool have little to play for and could be forgiven for taking their foot off the gas, and this could allow Chelsea to sneak the win.
Our Premier League Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
Other Premier League Predictions: May 4, 2025
There's one other Premier League game today. You can see our prediction for it below:
- Brentford vs Manchester United: United are terrible, except in Europe, while Brentford have nothing to play for. A draw in a game that means nothing for either side is a fair bet. Our Premier League Prediction: Brentford 2-2 Manchester United
