OPENING ODDS UPDATE: The 2026 regular season kicks off with an immediate Super Bowl rematch. When we last saw these two teams, Seattle beat New England 29-13 laying 4.5 points in Super Bowl 60.

That capped a great season on the field and at the betting window, as the Seahawks finished 17-3 SU/15-5 ATS. Like Seattle, the Patriots went 14-3 SU in the regular season and finished at 17-4 SU/13-8 ATS.

The NFL odds Week 1 market has been up since mid-May, when the schedules came out. Borgata Sports opened Seattle as 4-point home chalk, mimicking the Super Bowl spread.

The Seahawks got to -4.5 (-105) in June, but spent most of the summer at -3.5, where the line sits Aug. 30.

"The defending Super Bowl champs have been somewhat ignored in the futures market, as the Rams have captured the interest in the NFC West," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Even in the season opener, it’s been New England that's taken some of the early money as an underdog."

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Last season, both these teams lost in the NFC playoffs to eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle.

Los Angeles (14-6 SU/12-8 ATS) made it to the NFC Championship Game. But the Rams fell just short 31-27 as 2.5-point road underdogs to the Seahawks. In fact, L.A. failed to cover in all three of its playoff games.

A week earlier, in the Divisional Round, San Francisco got a far worse beatdown. The 49ers (13-6 SU/12-7) tumbled to Seattle 41-6 catching 7 points on the road.

For this season's first Thursday night tilt, in Melbourne, Australia, L.A. opened -2.5 in Borgata's NFL Week 1 odds. The Rams are now up to -3.5, and the total is at 48.5 from a 49.5 opener.

"This one has seen mostly Rams money since opening," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "The Niners have certainly faced their share of adversity during the preseason, in terms of injuries, accidents involving the coach, and now the owner finds himself in an unenviable situation."

Indeed, coach Kyle Shanahan was involved in a car accident in mid-July. And as of Aug. 30, a slew of players on both sides of the ball are designated questionable for Week 1, including Christian McCaffrey and Nick Bosa.

Further, 49ers owner Jed York got caught in a recent prostitution sting.

These two teams split last year's meetings, with the road team winning and covering each time.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Buffalo is still seeking that elusive Super Bowl trip with Josh Allen at quarterback. The Bills (13-6 SU/9-10 ATS) fell in the Divisional Round last season, losing at Denver 33-30 in overtime as 1.5-point underdogs.

Houston (13-6 SU/10-9 ATS) also bowed out in the Divisional Round. The Texans were 3.5-point favorites at New England and lost 28-16.

For this matchup in the early Sunday window, the Bills opened -1.5 back in May at Borgata Sports and stuck there until July 31. Then the number flipped to Texans -1/-1.5 briefly, before moving to Bills -1 (-102). On Aug. 30, the game is a pick 'em in Week 1 NFL odds.

"Over the summer, the favorite has flipped back and forth a few times, with both teams being favored as high as 1.5," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "I expect this game to remain pretty evenly bet."

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Joe Burrow missed most of last season with a severe turf toe injury, getting hurt in Week 2 and not returning until Week 13. Not surprisingly, Cincinnati struggled to 6-11 SU/8-9 ATS record.

But Burrow played those final few weeks, and the Bengals were 5-3 SU and ATS in his eight starts on the year.

Tampa Bay (8-9 SU/5-12 ATS) was the worst spread-covering outfit in the NFL last season. Further, after sitting at 7-5, the Bucs lost four in a row and ended up missing the playoffs by losing an NFC South tiebreaker to Carolina.

Now, stud wideout Mike Evans has moved on to the 49ers, and QB Baker Mayfield isn't happy that Tampa didn't work out a new contract ahead of the season.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Chicago (12-7 SU and ATS) was one of the bigger surprises last season. The Bears won the NFC North, then beat archrival Green Bay 31-27 catching 1.5 points at home in the Wild Card round.

Chicago's season ended a week later, falling 20-17 in overtime as 3.5-point home pups vs. the Rams.

Arguably more stunning, Carolina (8-9 SU/10-7 ATS) won the NFC South with a losing record. Then the Panthers, as 10-point home 'dogs, went toe-to-toe with the Rams before losing 31-27 on a final-minute touchdown.

The Bears opened as 2.5-point road favorites vs. the Panthers at BetMGM. That number stuck all summer, with Chicago at -2.5 (-115) as of Aug. 29.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: QB Lamar Jackson missed four games last season, due to hamstring and back injuries. Those absences proved costly, as Baltimore finished 8-9 SU/6-11 ATS and missed the postseason.

The Ravens still had a shot to win the AFC North and make the playoffs with a Week 18 win over Pittsburgh. But even with Jackson back in the lineup, Baltimore fell short 26-24 after a last-minute Steelers TD.

Indianapolis took the league by surprise with a 7-1 SU/6-2 ATS start last season behind revitalized QB Daniel Jones. The Colts were still 8-4 SU through 13 weeks, but Jones then tore an ACL in a Week 14 loss at Jacksonville.

Indy then talked Philip Rivers out of retirement, trying to save its season. But the Colts ultimately lost their last five games to finish 8-9 SU/9-7-1 ATS.

In 2026 NFL Odds Week 1, BetMGM opened Baltimore -3.5, and that number stuck all summer. As of Aug. 29, the Ravens are -3.5 (-105). The total has adjusted, dipping from 49.5 to 48.5 in June.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Pittsburgh won four of its final five regular-season games last year to win the AFC North. But Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers had a short playoff shelf life, getting blown out byHouston 30-6 as 3-point home underdogs in the Wild Card round.

Pittsburgh finished 10-8 SU/9-9 ATS, and Mike Tomlin stepped down a day later, after 19 years as coach. Rodgers is back for what he said will be his final season, and it will be under Mike McCarthy, the former Packers and Cowboys coach.

Atlanta (8-9 SU/8-8-1 ATS) lost a tiebreaker with Carolina for last season's NFC South title. Falcons coach Raheem Morris was then fired, and Kevin Stefanski took the helm just a few days later, after he was fired by Cleveland.

Atlanta isn't yet settled at QB. Tua Tagovailoa is now with the Falcons, who also have Michael Penix, who tore an ACL last November. Penix is expected to be healthy for Week 1, but Stefanski hasn't yet named his starter.

BetMGM opened the Steelers -2.5 in Week 1 NFL odds. Pittsburgh spent pretty much all summer at various iterations of -3 and is now -3 flat. The total is up a point, from 41.5 to 42.5.

"The offense certainly seemed to get bogged down quite a bit last year," Gable said. "But there does seem to be some optimism coming out of training camp for Hurts and company."

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Green Bay seemed to be a Super Bowl threat through Week 14 last season, sitting at 9-3-1 SU. But the Packers lost their last four games and barely eked out the NFC's final Wild Card slot, at 9-7-1 SU/6-10-1 ATS.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Dallas (7-9-1 SU/7-10 ATS) is coming off another disappointing season that ended right where this next season starts. The Cowboys were 3-point favorites at New York and got blown out 34-17.

Dallas ended the season on a 1-4 SU/0-5 ATS slide.

New York (4-13 SU/9-8 ATS) promoted rookie QB Jaxson Dart to the starter beginning in Week 4 last year. The Giants won two of the next three games, but then lost nine in a row. Dart missed two of those contests with a concussion, in Weeks 10-11.

The Cowboys opened as 2.5-point road favorites in NFL Week 1 odds at Borgata Sports. That number is unchanged as of Aug. 30, but there's been a little juice adjustment to Dallas -2.5 (-115).

"The first Sunday Night Football matchup of the season, with two NFC East rivals going at it, and the numbers haven’t moved in months," Borgata's Tom Gable said. "Expectations are pretty high that Dallas will challenge for the division title and at the very least get into the playoffs.

"The Cowboys' futures have been very popular with the betting public this offseason."

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Kansas City had a very un-K.C.-like season last year, going 6-11 SU and ATS. The death blow came in Week 15 vs. the Chargers, with the Chiefs losing 16-13 at home and Patrick Mahomes suffering a season-ending knee injury.

On the bright side, Mahomes is on track to start in NFL Week 1.

Denver (15-4 SU/9-9-1) made a hugely surprising run all the way to the AFC Championship Game, and in fact was the No. 1 seed. But after the Divisional Round win over Buffalo, Broncos QB Bo Nix was diagnosed with a broken ankle.

That hampered Denver greatly vs. New England, with the Broncos losing 10-7 as 3.5-point home 'dogs.

With Mahomes fully expected to play, the Chiefs opened as 2.5-point favorites in NFL odds Week 1 at Borgata Sports. Kansas City poked up to -3 (even) and -3 (-105) over the summer, but is at -2.5 (-118) as of Aug. 30.

"This number has bounced between 2.5 and 3 over the summer months," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Bettors are taking the 3 with Denver and laying the 2.5 with Kansas City, as you would expect.

"This game currently has the most written on it of any of the Week 1 game. And since it’s the Monday night game, it certainly could end up staying that way when all is said and done."
