2026 World Cup Odds
USA vs. Australia Odds
- Opening moneyline: USA -135/Australia +350/Draw 270
- Opening total: Over/Under 2.5 goals scored
- Time: 3 p.m. ET Friday (FOX)
LATEST UPDATE: Team USA is -165 chalk on BetMGM's three-way moneyline, two hours before game time. Australia is a +400 underdog, while Draw is +310. A week ago, World Cup odds for this match opened at USA -145/Australia +335/Draw +230.
Tickets and money overwhelmingly favor the U.S., at 84% of bets/92% of dollars. In fact, counting all four of today's matches, the U.S. Men's National Team is taking 12 times more tickets than any other team.
Further, there are 11 times more bets on USA vs. Australia odds than on any other match today.
"We won't be writing a bet on Australia," BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said, only slightly exaggerating. "A draw in any soccer game after 90 minutes is the best result a betting company can have. That will suit us.
"But nothing would please me more than to see Australia knock off the U.S."
The Aussies are netting just 7% of bets/4% of money, and Draw has 9% of bets/4% of money.
The total is at 2.5, with BetMGM offered reduced juice of -110 Over/even money Under. The total opened at 2.5 (Under -140/Over even), so the juice has seen significant movement.
Tickets are running 4/1 and money 5/1 on the Over. So no question, BetMGM wants a low-scoring game.
THIRD UPDATE: As of 7:30 p.m. ET Thursday, the USA is a -170 favorite on DraftKings' three-way moneyline. Australia is a +425 underdog, and Draw is +340.
DK opened at U.S. -135/Australia +350/Draw +270, then stretched to -190/+500/+360 after the USMNT drilled Paraguay 4-1. But the Aussies' 2-0 upset of Turkey led to a little snapback, to USA +165/Australia +450/Draw +320.
Less than 20 hours before kickoff, it's all USA in early action, at 78% of bets/91% of money. Australia is netting just 3% of bets/5% of money, while Draw is getting 19% of bets/4% of money.
"As expected, the bulk of the action is on the U.S," DraftKings' director of sportsbook operations Johnny Avello said. "We knew our customers would want to back the U.S. coming into the World Cup.
"And after their dominant performance last week, the excitement around the team is only growing. This is a trend that will continue as long as the U.S. stays alive. We will continue to put up a fair price and wish the bettors luck."
The total is at 2.5 (Over -120) and also getting a ton of support, with tickets almost 4/1 and money beyond 9/1.
SECOND UPDATE: The USMNT is -170 chalk on The SuperBook's three-way moneyline in World Cup odds, as of 3 p.m. ET Wednesday, 48 hours ahead of kickoff. Australia is a +440 underdog, while Draw is +335.
"Not a big shock, but right now, almost all the tickets are on the U.S.," SuperBook vice president John Murray said. "I would expect that to continue. They looked so good in that first game."
The U.S. is coming off a 4-1 rout of Paraguay. The Aussies started well, too, notching a 2-0 upset as +400 underdogs vs. Turkey. But Murray wasn't as impressed by the lads from Down Under.
"I know Australia won, but Turkey looked fine. Australia just managed to score the goals," Murray said. "You could almost make the case that the U.S. looked like the most dominant team in the tournament, until Messi took the field."
Indeed, Lionel Messi had a hat trick Tuesday night in defending champion Argentina's 3-0 win over Algeria.
Still, the Americans are clearly capturing the imagination of bettors in USA vs. Australia odds.
"So far, it's the U.S. in the three-way and the two-way betting," Murray said, noting The SuperBook's two-way has USA -1 (+110)/Australia +1 (-130). "What we're also seeing is the U.S. on moneyline parlays. They're tossed into those a lot.
"We are 48 hours away, so a lot more will come in, I'm sure. Everybody is gonna be rushing to bet the USA on Friday. And if the U.S. wins, it pretty much clinches the group. That's a pretty big deal, because they could rest some players for the Turkey match."
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: As noted above, USA already has a match under its belt, spanking Paraguay 4-1 as a +105 favorite Friday night. Folarin Balogun netted two first-half goals, helping stake the U.S. to a 3-0 halftime lead, practically unheard of in U.S. World Cup lore.
Australia opened play with an impressive Saturday night win over Turkey. The Aussies were +425 underdogs in three-way betting and dumped the Turks 2-0.
In USA vs. Australia odds, the American side opened as -135 chalk at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the Aussies +350 and Draw +270. But after the USA rout, the moneyline shot to USA -195/Australia +500/Draw +360.
However, the Aussies countering with a strong victory of their own brought the numbers back in. As of midnight Sunday night, it's USA -165/Australia +450/Draw +320.
The match is still five days away, so action is quite limited. That said, it's all America in the early going, with practically every ticket and dollar on the home side for Friday's match in Seattle. Neither Australia nor Draw is taking much action at all.
Check back for updates on USA vs. Australia World Cup odds right up until Friday's match.
