Weeks 7 and 8 of college football brought us so many upsets, and I do not think the chaos is over. Here are my predictions for week 9 of the college football season including matchups like Auburn vs. Ole Miss, Ohio State vs. USC, and more.

Arizona vs. Texas Tech Best Bet

Arizona is coming off of a dominating win against Iowa State, and Texas Tech is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Arizona has quietly been dominating their schedule, with their only loss coming to the BYU Cougars in week 2. The statistics for this matchup show that this game should be very close, which is why it makes sense to take the underdog here.

Arizona has a surprisingly strong defense, ranking in the 90th percentile for EPA allowed and 92nd percentile in success allowed, they rank better in both metrics than the Red Raiders.

Arizona has the edge offensively as well where they rank better in explosiveness, passing success, passing EPA/play, and overall success rate. Arizona keeps this one close and deals TT their second upset loss in a row.

Arizona vs. Texas Tech Prediction: Arizona Wildcats +4.5 (-120)

Utah vs. Cincinnati Best Bet

Cincinnati's defense is abysmal. The Bearcats rank 104th in EPA/pass allowed and 90th in EPA/rush allowed. Their overall defensive success rate is 106th, placing them in the bottom of college football.

Both team's are coming off of a nice win, but Utah has Cincinnati completely outclassed here. The difference is glaring on defense, where Utah ranks 6th in success rate allowed, 9th in EPA/rush allowed, and in the 93rd percentile in passing success allowed.

Dampier has a very high ceiling and very low floor. I think we get a ceiling outcome against this weak Bearcats defense.

Utah vs. Cincinnati Prediction: Utah Utes -6.5 (-115)

Auburn vs. Ole Miss Best Bet

We have already seen Auburn pull off a major upset this season, could another one be on the horizon?

Auburn has the makings of an upset team. They rank in the 74th percentile for offensive explosiveness, their run game is efficient, and they can create space in the open field.

Ole Miss' success starts and stops with Trinidad Chambliss' performance. There is no doubt that Chambliss' is the best quarterback in college football when he is at his peak, but when that turnover bug rears it's ugly head things turn for the worst for the Rebels. I think Auburn's defense can muddy this game up and make it difficult for Chambliss, resulting in a close game.

Auburn vs. Ole Miss Prediction: JSU +7 (-115)

Ohio State vs. USC Best Bet

This line is baffling if this is the Luke Fahey line. I know this USC defense has not been strong, but they will be home after a loss to Wisconsin and they will clearly be fired up. This USC offense is one of the most exciting in college football, ranking in the 96th percentile for success rate and in the 97th percentile for pass success rate.

This Ohio State defense is good, but they aren't as strong as last year's unit. Maiava should be able to pick apart this defense and beat Ohio State in a track meet, especially if they start a backup QB.

Ohio State vs. USC Prediction: USC Trojans +7 (-112)
