The 2022 Angels are having a season that could only be described with an eight letter word: Disaster. The representation of Angels in the All-Star Game does not correlate to the 38-49 record they currently own. Thus far in July, the Angels have been swept by the Astros, split a two-game set vs. the Marlins, and are fresh off four losses in a row to the Baltimore Orioles.

The Houston Astros lead the American League West by 12 games, the second-biggest division lead behind the Yankees in the American League East. They will travel down the 580 south to Palm Springs and try to sweep the Angels again starting on Tuesday.

The Astros will counter with Luis Garcia. Garcia has not escaped his starts without some damage either. He owns a 3.81 ERA and has allowed 18 runs in his last 34 innings. The one positive that Garcia has that Syndergaard is lacking is the run support. The Astros have won Garcia’s last four starts by averaging north of six runs of support per game.
