CONNECTICUT SPORTS BETTING MOVES FORWARD WITH LAUNCH DATE

US Sportsbooks · Bonus Codes · Betting News · Special Update

This past Thursday, the targeted date for the launch of Connecticut sports betting was finally announced. The two gaming tribes in the state as well as Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont have confirmed that the United States Department of the Interior had given its approval to their revised gaming compacts. This was the last of the obstacles Connecticut sports betting has to get through.

Now, according to Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, CT sports betting is on course to launch next month, in October. So, this means that Connecticut sports bettors will be able to take advantage of a little over three months of NFL betting this NFL season.

The licensing process will continue to move forward for the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection to certify more future gaming platforms in the state.

Here are the three sportsbook options that are set to be available for Connecticut sports betting:

  • The Connecticut Lottery has partnered with Rush Street Interactive
  • The Mashantucket Pequot tribe has partnered with the DraftKings Sportsbook
  • The Mohegan tribe has partnered with the FanDuel Sportsbook

Connecticut has been pushing for legal sports betting partly to quell the loss of tax revenue to neighboring states where it is already legal. With neighbors Massachusetts and New York both taking their sweet time to legalizing sports betting, Connecticut is set to build a robust market for itself. According to median household income, Connecticut is the six-richest state in the United States.

The Connecticut sports betting law, HB 6451 will also build the foundation for iGaming in Connecticut.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is especially pleased with this news. The tribe hopes that this expansion will give them the investments they need to support themselves even more. And, they are happy about the additional revenue that Connecticut sports betting will bring into the state. They are also excited about the enhancement to their already available entertainment that they will be able to bring.

The Mohegan tribe is also quite excited by this recent development. They feel that bringing the gaming industry into the modern age will not only protect but also create new jobs for the people of Connecticut. They also expressed their enthusiasm for the tax revenue Connecticut sports betting will bring into the state.

This revenue will be beneficial for budgets on the state and local level as well as for the tribe itself. Connecticut sports betting should help the state on multiple levels especially to recover from any economic hardships. Both tribes feel this is a milestone moment for themselves and the state.
