Something's Bruin

LATEST UPDATE: UCLA is in the midst of a stout season, sitting 44-4 overall as of May 8, including a perfect 24-0 in the Big Ten. Ranked No. 1, the Bruins are also the favorite in BetMGM's College World Series odds at +550.

In fact, UCLA has been the solo favorite for five weeks, though that's not necessarily surprising. UCLA opened as the +1300 third choice, behind +700 favorite LSU and +1000 second choice Georgia. But the Bruins have since well outpaced those two teams and many others.

Georgia Tech, on the other hand, is more of a surprise. The Yellow Jackets (39-8) opened +5000 and are now all the way into the +600 second choice. Georgia Tech is 8-1 in its last nine games, including notable wins at North Carolina and at a neutral site vs. Georgia.

Rounding out the top five in BetMGM's CWS futures odds:

  • Texas (36-10) +900
  • Mississippi State (38-12) +950
  • North Carolina (37-9-1) +1100

Mississippi State is the biggest mover of those three, opening at +3500.

A trio of SEC teams follows North Carolina: Texas A&M +1200, Georgia +1400 and Auburn +1600. Then there's a big gap to the ninth choice, yet another SEC team, with Ole Miss at +3500.

On the flip side, preseason favorite LSU has markedly slid down the 2026 College World Series championship odds board. The Tigers are just 29-21, barely cracking the top 15 at +5000, though that's an improvement from a week earlier on May 1, when LSU was +10000 (100/1).

Tickets, Money, Liability

Texas leads the ticket count in BetMGM's 2026 College World Series futures odds, with LSU and UCLA close behind. The Longhorns and Bruins are tied for the most money, with the Tigers a close third.

BetMGM's top five in ticket count for 2026 CWS odds:

  • Texas
  • LSU
  • UCLA
  • Georgia Tech
  • North Carolina

BetMGM's top five in money for 2026 College World Series futures:

  • Texas
  • UCLA
  • LSU
  • Georgia
  • Georgia Tech

Texas is the biggest liability at BetMGM, followed by LSU and UCLA.

A few slots further down in tickets and money could be a dark-horse outfit. Kansas (37-12) leads the Big 12 and is +5000 at BetMGM, a substantial improvement from its +15000 opener (150/1).

The Jayhawks are No. 10 in ticket count and No. 15 in money.
