Odds Subject to Change

Kansas seems to be back in form, as oddsmakers are leaning towards the Jayhawks as a -3-point road favorite. The Jayhawks are under .500 (5-6) on the ATS this season however, as Oklahoma State is split at 5-5-1.

The point total entering is 143.5, which will be difficult to predict based on both schools O/U this season (combined 11-10-1). Oklahoma State has seen a team reach as high as 93 points in a game, while also seeing a team score as little as 59 - in just its last two games.

Betting Analysis – Kansas Jayhawks

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 10-2
  • ATS: 5-6
  • SU - Home: 6-1
  • SU - Away: 4-1
  • O/U: 5-6

The Jayhawks are a very dangerous team, despite a recent home blowout loss to Texas. Kansas has four players average a double-digit point total, beginning with junior guard Ochai Agbaji. He and Jalen Wilson average over 14 points per game, while Wilson grabs 8.1 boards.per game.

Marcus Garrett is almost an afterthought in this offense, the senior leader and 'Swiss army knife' of this offense. He has seen four or more assists in seven of his last eight games, including 15 points or more in three of his last five games when facing an AP-ranked school.

It's tough for any team to contain all three, as Kansas is very lethal when all three are in rhythm. Both Christian Braun and David McCormack are also solid scorers who contribute on the glass. So what's the issue with Kansas? Nothing, really. They lost to the country's best team by 12 points to start the season, then played awful against Texas.

Other than that there's no real concern with Bill Self's club. There might be some consistency issues with Kansas, but overall this team should earn your conviction more times than not.

Betting Analysis – Oklahoma State Cowboys

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 8-3
  • ATS: 5-5-1
  • SU - Home: 3-2
  • SU - Away: 5-1
  • O/U: 6-4-1

Cade Cunningham is the name to watch in this game, as a stellar performance from the freshman can very well carry the Cowboys to victory. He averages 18 points per game and 6.1 rebounds to go along with 3.7 assists.

Isaac Likekele provides the veteran leadership there Cowboys need, not always having to rely on a 'rookie' to take over. Likekele is big on the glass, averaging 8.1 rebounds per game to go along with 3.5 assists too. If the Cowboys can get any other players from Rondel Walker to Bryce Williams to step up, this is a very difficult team to defeat in Stillwater.

There are a lot of questionable injuries for Oklahoma State however, as , Chris Harris Jr., Donvovan Williams and Ferron Flavors Jr. are all questionable to play. Depth becomes a concern for Cowboys' bettors if those players can't dress up.

The Cowboys can win this game, especially if they clean up on the glass. Oklahoma State averages 40.5 rebounds per game, which ranks 42nd in the nation. They also haul in 11.9 offensive boards per game (65th nationally) and 28.5 defensive boards per game (50th nationally).

Oklahoma State shots the 75th-most free throws per game, which is a great stat to have. Unfortunately, the Cowboys only convert 68% of those attempts, which ranks 227th in the country. Getting second chance opportunities and hitting free throws is the recipe Oklahoma State needs to follow if it plans to pull off the home upset.

Kansas-Oklahoma State Predictions

This is a difficult game to predict, as the ATS and O/U records for both schools are essentially split. So what's happened with each team recently? Oklahoma State has seen both teams score at least 70 points in six of its last eight games (one was overtime vs. Texas Tech).

Kansas, on the other hand, has seen at least one team fail to reach 60 points in four of its last six games. This makes the point total market very difficult to consider, but Kansas is playing somewhat desperate against a team that scores at home.
