UPDATE 4 P.M. ET MONDAY: Michigan is again a legit national title contender, ranked No. 2 in the AP poll. The Wolverines reached the College Football Playoff semifinal last season, losing to TCU 51-45 as 9-point favorites. Michigan finished 13-1 SU/8-5-1 ATS.

East Carolina is coming off an 8-5 SU and ATS season. The Pirates finished with a 53-29 rout of Coastal Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl.

Over the past couple of months, Michigan has been as high as -36 and as low as -34 in Caesars' college football odds Week 1 market. The Wolverines are currently back at their peak of -36. The total toggled between 51.5, 52 and 52.5, and it's now 52.
