UPDATE 4 P.M. ET MONDAY: Texas A&M is coming off a subpar 5-7 SU/4-7-1 ATS season. On the bright side, though, the Aggies finished with a bang, upending LSU 38-23 as 10-point home underdogs.

And the rankings seem to indicate an expectation for a better year in College Station.

Playing New Mexico to start the season certainly won't hurt A&M. The Lobos went a meager 2-10 SU/3-8-1 ATS in 2022, losing their last nine games (1-8 ATS).

Earlier in the summer, Texas A&M spent a couple weeks at -40 on Caesars' college football Week 1 odds board. But the spread has been stable at -38 since July 2. The total dropped to 49 by July 19 and hasn't moved since.
