UPDATE 11:15 A.M. ET SATURDAY: Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh will not be on the sideline today. He was suspended by the the Big Ten for the final three regular-season games Friday, and his hearing to get a temporary restraining order won't be until next Friday.

Caesars Sports opened Michigan -4 Sunday, stretched to -5 a couple times early in the week, then got to -5.5 Thursday. In the wake of Harbaugh's suspension Friday, the line went to Wolverines -4.5 (-115). And it's been bouncing around this morning, up to Michigan -5.5 (-115), back down to -4.5, and now at -5 (-115).

All that noted, Michigan is landing 66% of spread tickets/55% of spread money.

UPDATE 4:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: The past hour brought news that the Big Ten suspended Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh from the game-day sideline for the last three regular-season contests. At BetMGM, that did nothing to the number for Saturday's showdown, with the Wolverines remaining -4.5, where they've been almost all week.

"We're holding the line as it is right now and seeing what sharp money tells us," BetMGM trading team lead Seamus Magee said. "It's not the first time they've had to play without Harbaugh on the sidelines. Granted, the competition stunk, but they still boat-raced them easily."

That would be in Games 1-3 this season, when Harbaugh sat out for a university-imposed suspension. Michigan outscored East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green by a combined 96-16.

BetMGM opened Michigan -5.5 and went to -4.5 within a few hours Sunday night. This morning, prior to the Harbaugh news, spread ticket count was 3/1 and spread money 2/1 Michigan at BetMGM.

As of now, almost every sportsbook is at Michigan -4.5, though DraftKings has the Wolverines -4 (-115).

BetMGM's total opened at 43.5 and has been at 45.5 (Under -115) since Wednesday. As of this morning, the Over was getting 61% of tickets, while 64% of money was on the Under.

UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Michigan opened -5 Sunday night at PointsBet and within a few hours dipped to -4.5. There's been no movement since, and the Wolverines are plenty popular on the spread. Michigan is attracting 77% of early bets/88% of early dollars.

The total climbed from 43.5 to 46 by Tuesday afternoon, with multiple stops along the way. On Wednesday afternoon, it fell back to 45, where it remains tonight. And the splits are quite interesting: 58% of bets on the Over, but a whopping 94% of money on the Under early on.

"People remember the Penn State-Ohio State game a few weeks ago, when [Penn State QB] Drew Allar had a poor showing against a strong defense," trader Wyatt Satre said in PointsBet's Hustle daily newsletter.

Indeed, the Nittany Lions mustered just two field goals the whole game before a too-little-too-late touchdown with 29 seconds left in a 20-12 road loss.

"Ohio State is third in college football in points allowed per drive. Michigan is even better. The Wolverines are No. 1 in that metric," Satre said. "The total was originally bet up from 43.5 to 46, but then we started seeing sharper action. Now, the total has been sitting at 45 for the past 24 hours or so."

UPDATE 3 P.M. ET MONDAY: Michigan (9-0 SU/4-4-1 ATS) had much less trouble on the field with Purdue than off the field with its sign-stealing allegations. The Wolverines posted a 41-13 victory, but couldn't cover the hefty as 31-point faves.

Penn State (8-1 SU/7-2 ATS) can ill afford another loss, and played like it in Week 10. The Nittany Lions rolled over Maryland 51-15 laying 7.5 points on the highway.

The Wolverines are already down a notch at TwinSpires Sportsbook, from -5.5 to -5. Michigan is taking 64% of early spread tickets, while 58% of early spread money is on Penn State.

"Sharp play on Penn State +5.5 at the open. The public, as usual, is siding with Michigan," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said.

The total ticked from 43.5 to 44, with 61% of early tickets/66% of early money on the Over.
