College football odds for Week 3 are on the board and receiving plenty of attention as we tackle all the major storylines of the weekend. The LSU Tigers and Mississippi State Bulldogs meet at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on Saturday, September 16 at 12:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

• Opening total: Over/Under 53.5 points scored

UPDATE 3 P.M. ET FRIDAY: LSU opened -8.5 at BetMGM, peaked at -10 multiple times through midweek and is now -9.5 (-115). The Tigers are taking 53% of early spread tickets/70% of early spread dollars.

BetMGM's total toggled between 53.5/54/54.5 this week and is currently 54. Ticket count is 2/1-plus and money almost 5/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET THURSDAY: PointsBet toggled between -10 and -9.5 a couple of times this week and is now at -9.5. Early ticket count is almost 2/1 and money 6/1 on the Tigers.

The total climbed from 53 to 54.5, with tickets 8/1 and practically all the early dollars on the Over.

UPDATE 1 P.M. ET MONDAY: After getting whacked by Florida State in Week 1, LSU (1-1 SU/1-1 ATS) tried to regain its bearings against an FCS opponent. The Tigers took care of Grambling 72-10 as ridiculous 56.5-point favorites.

Meanwhile, Mississippi State (2-0 SU/1-1 ATS) met a more formidable foe, hosting Arizona in Week 2. The Bulldogs, laying 9 points at home, needed overtime to notch a 31-24 victory.

In 2022, LSU beat visiting Mississippi State 31-16. For Saturday's clash, the Tigers are already up a point to -10 at TwinSpires Sportsbook. LSU is netting 59% of early spread tickets/64% of early spread money.

The total crept down to 53, with 54% of tickets/72% of money on the Under.
