Matchup Spread Total Moneyline
  • Opening point spread: Colorado -23
  • Opening moneyline: Colorado -2500/Colorado State +1100
  • Opening total: Over/Under 59.5 points scored
  • Time: 10 p.m. ET Saturday (ESPN)

UPDATE 8:15 P.M. ET: Less than two hours before kickoff, Colorado has finally moved off -23.5, dipping a point to -22.5 at TwinSpires Sportsbook. The Buffs opened -23 and initially receded to -21.5, then climbed back to -23.5.

Spread ticket count is almost 3/1 and spread money 4/1 on Colorado.

"Early sharp play on Colorado State +23," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said. "Colorado has burned us the previous two weeks and is our biggest liability for the third straight weekend."

The total went from 59.5 to 59, then steadily stretched out to 63.5. Tickets and money are in the 2/1 range on the Over at TwinSpires.

UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Colorado opened -20.5 Saturday at BetMGM, stretched to -22.5 Sunday and -23.5 Monday morning. The line then returned to Buffs -22.5 for about 24 hours, but it's been steady at -23.5 since Tuesday afternoon.

Spread action is obscenely one-sided, with 93% of tickets/95% of money on Colorado.

"In the least surprising news, the last big need of the week is once again Colorado’s opponent to cover," BetMGM trader Seamus Magee said.

In fact, at the moment for BetMGM, there are more spread bets on Colorado State-Colorado than on any of the 15 remaining NFL games this week. And Colorado is taking 2.5 times more spread bets than any other college football team in Week 3.

The total opened at 57.5, surged to 63 by this morning and is now 62.5. The Over is getting 70% of tickets/81% of money.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET THURSDAY: At the newly branded PointsBet, a Fanatics Experience, Colorado hasn't moved off the -23 opener this week. However, as in the previous two weeks, early spread play is almost entirely on the Buffaloes. Colorado is taking 90% of tickets/97% of money.

PointsBet's total is up to 61 from a 59 opener, with 73% of bets/95% of money on the Over.

The moneyline is at Colorado -3185/Colorado State +1180.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET MONDAY: Coach Prime and Colorado are the belle of the ball at the moment. And not just in college football betting, but across the American sports betting landscape.

The Buffaloes (2-0 SU and ATS) didn't look nearly as good against Nebraska in Week 2 as they did vs. TCU in Week 1. But Colorado had a solid second half in beating the Huskers 36-14, easily covering as a 2.5-point home chalk.

Colorado State (0-1 SU and ATS) is coming off an early bye. The Rams were 8-point Week 1 home underdogs vs. Washington State and lost 50-24.

TwinSpires opened Colorado a healthy 23-point favorite on its college football Week 3 odds board. That number has already been bet down to Buffs -21.5. Colorado is taking 76% of early spread tickets/55% of early spread dollars.

"Early sharp play on Colorado State +23," Lucas said. "Colorado has burned us the previous two weeks. This will likely be another week of needing the Buffaloes' opponent."

The total inched down to 59, with 61% of tickets/54% of money on the Over.

  • Opening point spread: Tennessee -7
  • Opening moneyline: Tennessee -286/Florida +210
  • Opening total: Over/Under 57.5 points scored
  • Time: 7 p.m. ET Saturday (ESPN)

UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Tennessee hit TwinSpires Sportbbook's college football odds Week 3 market as a 7-point favorite. The Vols stopped at -6 on their way to the current -5.5.

Underdog Florida is landing 58% of spread tickets/66% of spread money.

"A mix of sharp and public action. And it's 2/1 tickets and 4/1 money on Florida moneyline," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said. "We'll need Tennessee to do something it hasn't done since 2003 – win in Florida."

The total initially nudged from 57.5 to 58, but it's now down to 56.5. that said, tickets and money are in the 2/1 range on the Over at TwinSpires.

UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: This line has come down over the course of the week in BetMGM's college football odds Week 3 market. Tennessee opened -7.5, went to -7 Monday, -6.5 Tuesday and -6 late this morning.

Multiple sportsbooks reported sharp play this week on Florida. That might be the case at BetMGM, as well, but trader Seamus Magee said his shop is rooting for the Gators.

"There’s no shortage of hometown bettors in Tennessee backing the Vols," Magee said, alluding to action in BetMGM's Tennessee market. "We hope Florida keeps this under the current spread of 6."

The total climbed from 57.5 to 58.5 Monday at BetMGM, but backed up 2 points just this afternoon, to 56.5. Ticket count is approaching 3/1 and money 4/1 on the Under.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Most sportsbooks posted their opening lines Sunday, with Tennessee a touchdown-plus favorite, and that line is now as low as Vols -6. PointsBet opened later at Vols -6.5 and is still at -6.5.

Point-spread ticket count is 2.5/1 on Tennessee, but point-spread money is 8/1 on underdog Florida. The moneyline is at Vols -250/Gators +200, with the heavy bulk of early action on Tennessee.

PointsBet's total went from 57.5 to 59, then to 58.5. Ticket count is 2/1 and money 3/1 on the Under.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET MONDAY: Tennessee hits the road for the first time this season, after a pair of home wins. In Week 2, the Vols (2-0 SU and ATS) weren't world beaters against FCS opponent Austin Peay, winning 30-13 while falling miles short as 48.5-point favorites.

Florida (1-1 SU/0-2 ATS) also hosted an FCS squad in Week 2. The Gators bashed McNeese State 48-7 laying a hefty 47.5 points.

TwinSpires hasn't moved off Tennessee -7, with 60% of tickets/58% of cash on the Vols early on.

"The Vols haven't looked impressive this season, or we'd likely see a lot more money coming in on them," Lucas said.

The total ticked up to 58, with early tickets and money in the 2/1 range on the Over.

The total is pinned to 48.5 at BetMGM, even with practically all the early tickets/money on the Over.

UPDATE 1 P.M. ET MONDAY: Texas (2-0 SU, 1-1 ATS) is coming off a monster road win. The Longhorns topped Alabama 34-24 as 7-point underdogs, then jumped from No. 11 to No. 4 in the AP poll.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET MONDAY: The only reason this lopsided matchup merits an early update is because it's become much more lopsided. Iowa (2-0 SU, 1-1 ATS) is already up 5.5 points to -29 vs. Western Michigan (1-1 SU and ATS).

That climb happened in barely 24 hours time in Caesars Sports' college football odds Week 3 market. The Hawkeyes opened -23.5 early Sunday afternoon, reached -27 within a few hours, then went to -28/-29 today.

Notre Dame initially fell back a point to -33 at Caesars Sports, but returned to the -34 opener this morning.

Weather is likely a factor in the line move and in the total plunging from 55.5 to 46. Boston isn't in the path of Hurricane Lee, but the outer tangents of the storm are expected to cause rainfall Saturday morning and winds of 20-30 mph throughout the day.

The total has seen a bigger early adjustment, dropping down to 54.
