Miami (FL) vs. Ohio State Prediction

For the first game of the second round of the College Football Playoff, we head to Arlington where the Hurricanes will look to upset the Ohio State Buckeyes in a rematch of the 2003 National Championship.

There's a reason this total is so low as the Hurricanes' defense was spectacular in their upset of the Texas A&M Aggies in round 1, as they turned over Marcel Reed three times.

On the other side, Ohio State has the nation's best defense, showcasing four potential first-round picks on that side of the ball. But look out for the Buckeyes' offense to make a statement after a lackluster performance in the Big Ten Championship.

Star wideouts Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate were each nursing injuries down the stretch - coming off the bye week, you can expect some fresh legs from the Buckeyes.

Expect Miami to continue to lead on their ground game with Mark Fletcher Jr. coming off a career day with 172 yards in their upset win, where the Hurricanes averaged over 6 yards a rush against one of the nation's best fronts. You can also expect Malachi Toney to mix in and make some splash plays.

Although these defenses are the story, this total is just too low on a fast track.

Miami (FL) vs. Ohio State Prediction: Over 42.5 (-105 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
