Saturday’s Best Bets
VegasInsider.com has teamed up with professional sports bettor and handicapper Kevin Gamble to bring you free weekly college football winners with analysis, plus he provides his infamous parlays that can build your bankroll from nothing to something in one weekend! For this week, Gamble offered up his thoughts on the card and the video below provides a complete breakdown of five games.
He explained, “I believe the Week 7 college football landscape is filled with primal intent and a focus on the goal for the majority of schools, now more than ever. It is vital for most of these teams to avoid complacency with their early success and strive for perfection. This will force a lot of coaches to “coach” mid game, which in turn will slow the tempo down as well.”
One of the five matchups that Gamble will be looking at is the Big 10 contest between Nebraska and Minnesota.
“I’m a big believer in situational handicapping and I really like this matchup where we have an undefeated team going up against a preseason top dog in the conference. Personally, I strongly disagreed with this early analysis on the Cornhuskers as I felt Nebraska was mediocre but some need to up their ratings, so no harm done.”
“At any rate, we find ourselves looking down the barrel of a matchup that will define two young enthusiastic coaches. Scott Frost, still green in the eyes of the Big Ten, hasn’t had the same success in Lincoln like he did at Central Florida. Across the field is P.J. Fleck, who at Western Michigan introduced a pass heavy, control the tempo offense that was very effective, especially when he had NFL wide receiver Corey Davis on the squad -- now with the Tennessee Titans.”
“With both of these coaches at their new universities, success is beginning to be measured by the amount of time it takes them to win. P.J. has already established his case with an undefeated record this season and I believe it's now Scott’s turn. That’s also part of the main reason why I see Nebraska covering the +7.5 and both teams scoring a slew of points, which makes the ‘over’ justifiable as well."
