NEVADA WOLF PACK vs. AIR FORCE FALCONS BETTING PREDICTION

The Wolf Pack opened with a pair of victories over New Mexico State and Texas State, covering each outing. However, Nevada lost 55-41 in Reno against Incarnate Word of the FCS, while getting blanked 27-0 last weekend at Iowa to fail covering as a 24-point underdog as the UNDER hit.

Things have gone down hill in a hurry for UNR, and the Wolf Pack rank just 119th in the nation in total yards (290.0), 116th in passing yards (151.5) and 95th in points scored (25.5). On defense, the Pack is halfway decent against the run, but terrible against the pass, allowing 272.0 yards per outing. Even Iowa was able to move the ball on Nevada, and that says A LOT.

Air Force won its first two games by 31 or more points, covering a double-digit spread while the OVER connected. Things didn't go so well in last Friday's first road trip of the season, as the Falcons had their wings clipped in Laramie by Wyoming, 17-14, losing as a 16.5-point favorite. Air Force held Wyoming to just 171 rushing yards, which is 239.7 yards per game less than the team's season average, which is still No. 1 in the nation at 410.7 yards per game on the ground.

Score Prediction: Air Force 30, Nevada 13
Best Bet: Nevada +24 (-108)
Best Bet: UNDER 45.5 (-110)

NEVADA WOLF PACK BETTING ANALYSIS

It's been a tale of two seasons so far. After QB Carson Strong, WR Romeo Doubs, etc. left the Wolf Pack for paying jobs, and head coach Jay Norvell dipped for Colorado State, it was expected Nevada was going to strong - a lot. The Wolf Pack gave fans hope with a 23-12 win at New Mexico State to open, and by routing Texas State 38-14 in the home opener to make it 2-0 SU/ATS. However, a 55-41 loss to Incarnate Word at home on Sept. 10 started the team's downfall, and Nevada was blanked 27-0 in a truly awful performance.

The Wolf Pack were limited to just 69 rushing yards on 36 attempts last week, while posting 82 passing yards against the Hawkeyes while allowing four sacks with 10 punts and a minus-1 turnover margin. RB Toa Taua has three rushing yards, and leads the team with 277 yards, while RB Devonte Lee leads the team with four scores on the ground.

Nevada has failed to cover the past two games. It is 5-1 ATS in the past six road games, with the lone non-cover at Iowa. The Wolf Pack have covered six of the past eight games inside the conference, and this will be the team's league opener.

The OVER-UNDER has split 2-2 this season. The OVER is 5-2 in the past seven games overall, but the offense was a lot more high-octane last season, and the personnel changes make the total trends something you shouldn't put a lot of stock into.

AIR FORCE FALCONS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Falcons loss last week against a mediocre Wyoming side was shocking. Air Force looked like an unstoppable, well, force, on the ground, while Wyoming provided future teams plenty of tape on how to shut down the Falcons ground attack.

Air Force is 6-1 ATS in the past seven games overall, while going 5-2 ATS in the past seven home games and 6-2 ATS in the past eight conference tilts. Of course, the non-cover was last week in Laramie.

As far as the total is concerned, the OVER is 6-1 in the past seven games for the Falcons, while the UNDER is 5-1 in the past six against teams with a winning record. The UNDER easily came in last week, too.

Air Force leads the all-time series 4-2, including a 41-39 win in Reno last Nov. 19. The last time these teams met in the Springs, UNR picked up a 28-25 win on Sept. 29, 2018. In fact, the road team has won outright in each of the previous three meetings dating back to Oct. 2017.
