PGA Championship – Round 2 Odds

PGA Championship - Pre-Tournament Odds

The first round of the 2020 PGA Championship is in the books and the top golfers in the world didn't have much trouble at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California.

Jason Day, the 2015 PGA Champion winner, shot a 5-under 65 and sat in the clubhouse as the early leader.

Day had a bogey-free round that included a birdie on the par-4 ninth hole.Prior to teeing off on Thursday, Day was listed as high as a 40/1 betting choice to win the first major of 2020.

Oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have dropped Day as a 9/1 betting choice in their Live Bettting golf market.

Joining Day as the co-leader after the first round is Brendon Todd at 5-under. Todd was listed as high as 85/1 in pre-tournament betting markets and that number has dropped down to 27/1 (Bet $100 to win $2,700)

Right behind Day is a logjam of golfers with a score of 4-under -- nine of them to be exact.

For those believing Day can keep the momentum going, make a note that wire-to-wire wins in major championships don't happen often. In the PGA Championship, it's only happened three times and the last golfer to do so was Hal Sutton in 1983.

In that mix is big names like Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele, both receiving attention from the oddsmakers and betting public.

Koepka entered the PGA Championship as a the 10/1 betting favorite while Schauffele was listed at 20/1 odds.

Schauffele has never won a major championship but Koepka has four career major wins and that includes victories in the 2018 and 2019 PGA Championships.

Expecting a 3-peat seems to be in the cards for Koepka after 18 holes and the oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have made him a +480 betting choice to pull off the feat while Schauffele is listed at +750 to win the event.

Friday's second round is expected to begin at 10:00 a.m. ET with the last group to start at 5:37 p.m. ET.
