Suns vs Magic

The Magic jumped out to a surprisingly strong start to the season, as Orlando opened with an impressive 14-5 run in its first 19 contests – while ranking 12th in offensive rating and 3rd in defensive rating during that span.

Ever since that point, however, Orlando has quickly reverted back to mediocrity. The Magic are now 10-17 in their last 27 games, and they are 2-7 in their last nine, bringing their record down to 23-22 on the season – while ranking 27th in offensive rating and 10th in defensive rating since December 1.

While on the flip side, the Suns had a seven-game winning streak snapped in a 133-131 loss to Indiana in their latest affair. Prior to that, however, Phoenix was finally beginning to heat up after a surprisingly slow start to the season. After posting a record of 14-15 in their first 29 contests, the Suns are now 12-4 in their last 16 games – ranked 8th in the league in net rating and 2nd in EFG% since Christmas.

I’m backing Phoenix to handle business on the road in Orlando this Sunday.

Raptors vs Hawks

Toronto Raptors +6.5 (-110)

Yes, the Raptors are going through a rocky stage now losing eight of their last nine games.

But Atlanta isn't playing well either having lost and failed to cover in its last four games. The Hawks are an auto-fade for me in this price range.

The Hawks have by far the worst point spread mark in the NBA at 11-34 for 24 percent. They are especially terrible in this role going 1-11 ATS when favored by more than one point.

The Raptors have enough offense to take advantage of the Hawks' porous defense, which ranks in the bottom-three in scoring defense, defensive field goal percentage and 3-point defensive percentage.
