Minnesota Vikings vs Carolina Panthers Odds

• Opening point spread: Vikings -3
• Opening moneyline: Vikings -180/Panthers +150
• Opening total: Over/Under 44.5 points scored
• Time: 1 p.m. ET Sunday (FOX)

UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Thirty minutes pre-kick, the Vikings are 4-point favorites at Fanatics Sportsbook. Minnesota opened -3 (-105) and got as high as -4.5 a couple times, including this morning.

It's all Vikings on the spread, at 84% of tickets/87% of money. And moneyline are similarly lopsided toward Minnesota.

Fanatics' total opened at 44.5, topped out at 46.5 Thursday and nudged down to 46 in the past hour. The Over is taking 60% of tickets/79% of money.

UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: The Vikings have steadily climbed throughout the week at BetMGM. Minnesota opened -3, went to -3.5 Monday, -4 Wednesday and -4.5 (-105) Thursday.

The Vikes are now -4.5 flat, with early ticket count 4/1 and early money almost 8/1.

BetMGM's total went from 44.5 to 45.5 Monday, then to 46.5 Thursday. Tickets are almost 3/1 and money 9/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 10 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Minnesota (0-3 SU/0-2-1 ATS) still hasn't notched a win against opponents nor oddsmakers. In Week 3, the Vikings were in a back-and-forth battle with the Chargers and came up short 28-24 as 1-point home faves.

Carolina, with Andy Dalton subbing for injured rookie QB Bryce Young, stuck with Seattle well into the fourth quarter. But the Panthers (0-3 SU/1-2 ATS) ultimately fell 37-27 getting 4.5 points.

Vikings vs Panthers Pick, Prediction

Action Network NFL betting expert Brandon Anderson offers this prediction:

It's not exactly a revenge spot for the kid from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, but you know Thielen would love to have a nice game against his old team. Thielen has found the end zone each of the past two games and is the de facto WR1, with 18 catches for 199 yards on 23 targets in those two games.

You can make a case for receiving yards or a TD too, but I trust Thielen's volume the most, especially as the team tries to get him chances against his old team. If he gets double-digit targets again as expected, five catches should be a cinch. Definitely play 7+ catches for +450 too (Bet365), which he's hit twice in a row.
