2026-27 NFL Rookie of the Year Odds

QB, Or Not QB?

LATEST UPDATE: NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds started taking shape after the April 23-25 NFL Draft. At that time, the Las Vegas Raiders took Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick.

That was after Mendoza led Indiana to a perfect 16-0 season and the national title.

Two selections later, the Arizona Cardinals nabbed Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. BetMGM's Offensive Rookie odds went up with Love the +300 favorite and Mendoza the +400 second choice.

On June 1, Love was still at +300, while Mendoza nudged to +375. Now, on July 23, both players are +400.

But interestingly, neither player is No. 1 in either tickets or money in BetMGM's NFL Rookie of the Year odds.

In ticket count, the 32nd and final pick of the first round leads the way. That would be Seattle Seahawks running back Jadarian Price, Love's Notre Dame teammate, who opened +1100 and is now the +850 fifth choice. There's a perfectly logical reason all the Price action.

"It's easy to understand why bettors have gravitated toward Jadarian Price," BetMGM trading manager Hal Egeland said. "With Kenneth Walker now in Kansas City and Zach Charbonnet returning from injury, there's a pathway for Price to get a meaningful amount of touches.

"He's currently second in handle, although the gap between several players is fairly small. From a liability standpoint, he's essentially a break-even result for us right now."

In money, Tennessee Titans wideout Carnell Tate is No. 1, narrowly edging out Price. Tate, drafted fourth overall out of Ohio State, is the +650 co-third choice, in slightly from a +700 opener.

The top five in tickets in BetMGM's 2026 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year futures:

  • Price
  • Mendoza
  • Tate
  • Makai Lemon
  • Love

Lemon, a wideout from USC, was taken 20th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles. He's the +1200 sixth choice to win the award.

The top five in money at BetMGM:

  • Tate
  • Price
  • Mendoza
  • Love
  • Jordyn Tyson

Tyson, a wideout from Arizona State, was taken eighth overall by the New Orleans Saints. He's joins Tate as the +650 co-third choice.

"Jeremiyah Love and Jordyn Tyson would be our preferred outcomes at this stage," Egeland said.

The No. 1 overall pick is among BetMGM's key concerns in NFL Rookie of the Year odds.

"Mendoza is one of our larger liabilities at the moment," Egeland said. "That said, rookie award markets often look very different once preseason action gets underway. Jeremiyah Love has also received solid support, but he's actually a good result for us.

"Carson Beck is another player worth mentioning. Even though he's taken less total money than Mendoza, his longer odds at +2200 mean he'd actually be a worse result for us from a liability perspective."

Beck, who helped Miami reach the national title game last season after also starring at Georgia, is BetMGM's largest liability. Beck wasn't drafted until the third round, at No. 65 overall by the Cardinals, who in March released starting QB Kyler Murray.

Still, Beck is third on Arizona's depth chart, behind Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. Yet Beck is seventh in ticket count and sixth in money at BetMGM. He opened at +2500 and sat at +3000 the past couple months, but is now the +2200 seventh choice.

Former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia went undrafted, then signed a free-agent deal with the Baltimore Ravens. Pavia then got cut July 23, though not before becoming a long-shot trouble spot for BetMGM.

"The player creating our largest liability in Offensive Rookie of the Year is Diego Pavia. That's driven almost entirely by his 500/1 price," Egeland said. "For obvious reasons, we're not worried about this liability at the moment.

"Cade Klubnik has also taken enough interest to become a liability for us, although not nearly to the same degree. For Jets fans' sake, I’m cheering for Klubnik."

New York took the former Clemson QB in the fourth round. Klubnik is second on the depth chart, behind Geno Smith.

Living On The Edge

Edge rusher David Bailey was drafted No. 2 overall by the New York Jets, after a standout season at Texas Tech. Bailey then opened as the +450 favorite in BetMGM's 2026-27 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds.

By June 1, that number modestly adjusted to +500, and Bailey remains +500 as of July 23. Despite being the favorite, Bailey is practically an afterthought for BetMGM customers, at 10th in ticket count/ninth in money on NFL Rookie of the Year odds.

"David Bailey is actually one of our better results," Egeland said. "He hasn't attracted the same level of betting support as some others. Arvell Reese and Mansoor Delane are in a similar position and would also be favorable outcomes for us."

Rueben Bain Jr., another edge rusher, is right behind Bailey as the +550 second choice. Bain starred at Miami and was drafted 15th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Following Bailey and Bain in 2026 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds:

  • New York Giants linebacker Arvell Reese +750
  • Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Mansoor Delane +850
  • Washington Commanders linebacker Sonny Styles +850
  • Dallas Cowboys safety Caleb Downs +850

Those four represent the Nos. 5-7 and No. 11 overall picks, respectively. Reese was taken No. 5 out of Ohio State, Delane No. 6 from LSU, Styles No. 7 from Ohio State and Downs No. 11 out of Ohio State.

Surprisingly, former Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez is No. 1 in tickets and money, as a second-round pick of the Miami Dolphins. Rodriguez opened +2500 and is now +2000, the co-eighth choice at BetMGM.

"The standout name in that market has been Jacob Rodriguez. He's our most-bet player and currently represents our largest liability," Egeland said. Defensive Rookie of the Year isn't a market that takes a significant amount of money this far ahead of the season.

"So it doesn't take much action for a player to become a notable liability. Still, Rodriguez's popularity stands out, and there's clearly been meaningful interest from bettors backing him to win the award.

The top five in ticket count at BetMGM:

  • Rodriguez
  • Styles
  • Downs
  • Bain
  • Dillon Thieneman

Thieneman, a safety out of Oregon, was drafted 25th overall by the Chicago Bears. He opened and remains +2200.

The top five in money in BetMGM's NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds:

  • Rodriguez
  • Styles
  • Bain
  • Downs
  • Akheem Mesidor

Mesidor went 22nd overall to the Los Angeles Chargers. The edge rusher out of Miami has seen notable movement, opening at +1800 and shortening to +1300.
