The oddsmakers have the Buffalo Bills pegged to win the most games of any team during the 2022 NFL season. Buffalo was one of the most talented teams in the NFL last year, and the Bills got even better this offseason with the addition of Von Miller. That has led to Buffalo having an over/under of 11.5 wins, and the only other teams with a win total of at least 11 are Green Bay, Kansas City, and Tampa Bay.
The Bills went 11-6 last year, but they are expected to be even better in 2022. Buffalo led the league in point differential with the third-best scoring offense and the best scoring defense. Although the AFC East figures to be better with an improved Miami roster and New England always lurking, the early action has been on the Bills to have at least 12 wins as the over has moved to -135.
Andy Reid has led the Chiefs to six straight AFC West titles. However, Kansas City is in real danger of not winning the division or even making the playoffs next year. The Chiefs no longer have Tyreek Hill, and their division is significantly more difficult. Kansas City ranked 27th in total defense, so we could see the Chiefs really fall apart even with the great Patrick Mahomes under center.
Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions will be on HBO’s Hard Knocks this year, and they should get the subsequent preseason bump from being highlighted on the show. That means if you are going to take Detroit’s over, now is the time to do it. Detroit has finished dead last in the NFC North for four straight seasons, but the Lions played teams tough down the stretch last year and went 3-3 in their last six games.
The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t finished under .500 since 2003. Mike Tomlin has been one of the best coaches in the NFL over the last 15 years, but the Steelers look set to take a major step back in 2022. The offense was pretty bad last year, and there are lots of concerns about this secondary.
