Vikings vs. Eagles Player Prop Pick

  • Jalen Hurts (PHI) Over 47.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Vikings vs Eagles may be my most anticipated game of Week 2. Both of these teams had good starts, with the Vikings absolutely shutting down the division rival Packers, and the Eagles taking care of business vs Detroit. While the Vikings clearly played well, it's hard to get much information out of that game because of how sloppy the Packers looked. Additionally, the Packers choose not to shadow Justin Jefferson with their best corner, a decision that led to him absolutely destroying the Packers secondary, you would think the Eagles will be better prepared to slow him down.

As for the Eagles, I’m not sure how much stock we put into Game 1. They absolutely decimated the Lions, both on the ground with Sanders/Hurts, and through the air with new addition AJ Brown. The Vikings will definitely be a defensive step up from the Lions, but not as much as the numbers say. The Packers were extremely sloppy last week, I’m just not sure the Vikings deserve all the credit for that one, this will be the first real test.

Jalen Hurts rushing props were one of my absolute favorite targets late season, while the line has adjusted a bit, I still think we have some value here. The first stat i always love to look at for rushing quarterbacks is designed runs. While scrambling is something that will always happen with mobile QB’s, designed runs really tell you what teams prioritize using their dual-threat QB’s. Hurts lead all quarterbacks with 8 designed runs last week, additionally leading quarterbacks in scramble percentage at 19.5%. This impressive underlying usage lead to a 17 attempt 90 yard performance last week. With Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott all involved on the ground, Hurts provides an important element of this run game.

This number is currently 47.5 on Barstool, but up to 49.5 on most books. I would recommend playing this up to 51.1 for half a unit. Rushing attempts is also a great look, because of his goal-line and short yardage usage, but they don't like giving us those props!
