Not hard for me to come and take a look at the 'over' for this game, even with there being consecutive shutouts in this series.

I say that because, from the perspective of knowing that this series will at least have five games in it, how many of you would be willing to stake that their wouldn't be an 'over' cashing at least once in those five games. I know it wouldn't be many, and with the way Dallas was scoring coming into the Conference Final, expecting at least one 'over' to connect would have been a common thought.

So that is looming in the background, and then you've got a situation where consecutive shutouts in this series makes this about as low as a buying point as there probably will be in this series. Two straight games where only one team scores makes it tough for most to look at an 'over', especially with the concerns on the Vegas side of things extending beyond this specific series.

And while no result is ever “due”, with the reasonable expectation of an 'over' coming already in mind, and the price being about as low as it will ever get in this series, pending another shutout win for someone in Game 3, it's worth it to step out and look to both sides finding some offense in this game.

The only other time Dallas was shut out in the bubble was a 2-0 loss to Calgary in Game 3 of that series, only to bounce back with a 5-4 OT win the next time out.

Vegas has backed up shut out wins over Vancouver with a 5-2 loss and a 5-3 win, two more cases where the 'over' ended up getting there. The Knights did shut out Vancouver in Game 7 and turned that around with a 1-0 loss in this series opener, but that was also two different teams faced.

It likely is only a matter of time before at least one of these offenses breaks through and has a highly productive night, and being proactive in hunting that 'over' that's arguably coming may pay off well here.
