BOSTON BRUINS vs. CAROLINA HURRICANES PREDICTIONS

The Bruins and Hurricanes have played six games, and the home side has been victorious in all six games so far. In fact, the average margin of victory for the Bruins in their three contests at TD Garden was 2.7 goals per game, and the average margin of victory for the Canes at PNC Arena has been 3.7 goals per game. Luckily for Carolina, it gets the decisive Game 7 on home ice.

Since relocating from Hartford to Carolina, it's been Lucky 7's for the Hurricanes. In five Game 7s in the playoffs, the Canes are a perfect 5-for-5, including a Game 7 win over the Bruins in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2009. The Canes also hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup in 2006 after defeating the Edmonton Oilers at PNC Arena, one of two Game 7 victories in that year's playoffs.

The Bruins last appeared in a Game 7 in 2019, losing the Stanley Cup Finals to the St. Louis Blues that season in the decisive game. Earlier in those playoffs, Boston topped Toronto in the first round in Game 7. In fact, the B's have been in a Game 7 five times in the first round since 2011, winning four of the five games, three times against the Maple Leafs and once against the Montreal Canadiens. Their only Game 7 loss during the span was in 2012 against the Washington Capitals.

The top goal scorers are Seth Jarvis, Nino Niederreiter, Andrei Svechnikov and Vincent Trocheck, each tied with three goals apiece. It's really been a community effort the Hurricanes, and that list is indicative of the team's depth.

The Bruins have been playing well - at home. On the road, they have looked like a shell of themselves. However, anything can happen in a Game 7, and you can expect that the B's will play their best road game of the series in this one. Boston has a good record in Game 7 appearances just like Carolina, but most of that success came on home ice. The venue will be the difference, and the advantage goes to the Hurricanes here. Also, the OVER has been the dominant trend for both teams, but look for a lower-scoring game, as these teams dial it down and take fewer chances in a do-or-die game.
