And then there were three. That's three teams remaining in the playoffs, as the Colorado Avalanche bumped off the Edmonton Oilers in four games, leaving three teams left to vie for Lord Stanley's Cup. Did you have the Rangers as one of those teams a couple of weeks ago?

The Rangers lost for the first time in six meetings this season in Game 3, as the Lightning edged the visitors 3-2 to make this a series. New York fired out to a 2-0 lead on a pair of second-period power-play goals, as Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider made the home fans super nervous. But the two-time defending champs scored a goal of their own on the man advantage, thanks to Nikita Kucherov, slicing the lead to 2-1 before the break.

In the third, it was another PPG, this time off the stick of Steven Stamkos, leveling the game 2-2. Ondrej Palat struck with 42 seconds left to stun the Blueshirts, making it 3-2. That sent the home crowd into a frenzy, and helped the Lightning avoid a 3-0 hole, which likely would have been too much even for them to recover from. Now, we have a series, something the Oilers were unable to give us against the Avalanche.

Even better, the Lightning are going to win this one and send it back to New York, for what will essentially be a best-of-three series to move on and face the Avs for all the marbles.
