Manchester City vs Aston Villa Preview

As already mentioned, both sides need three points from this fixture. City currently sit in fifth and a win would take them up to third, while a win for sixth-placed Villa would see them rise to fourth, level on points with third-placed Nottingham Forest.

Both sides go into the game in fine form. Manchester City haven't lost in the Premier League in five games, while Villa have won all their past five Premier League matches, propelling themselves into Champions League contention. The last time the two sides met, it ended up a 2-1 win to Villa.

Rodri, Erling Haaland, John Stones, and Nathan Ake are still out for City, and have been joined on the injury list by Ederson. For Villa, only Pau Torres is unavailable for selection.

Prediction

City are starting to look good, while Villa are also in fine form, despite their recent Champions League exit. There's not too much to choose between the sides, so City's home advantage could be the deciding factor.
