EPL, La Liga, Serie A Best Bets

Matchup: Everton v Crystal Palace

League: Premier League
Date: Saturday, 7:30 a.m. ET

Best Bet: Everton to win and under 2.5 goals at 5/2

Quietly, Everton have put together a really decent run of results since Carlo Ancelotti came in. Since his appointment the Toffees have the second highest points tally in the league after Liverpool, and they can notch up another win against Crystal Palace. The Eagles are solid enough at the back but create desperately few chances. Everton’s last three home games were similar fixtures against Brighton, Burnley and Newcastle. They won the first two 1-0 and were 2-0 up by the 93rd minute before an inexplicable collapse against Newcastle. Palace have conceded more than twice only once all season, so a low-scoring Everton win looks the way to go.

Matchup: Swansea City v Derby County

League: Championship
Date: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. ET

Best Bet: Swansea City to win at 1/1

Derby, who reached the play-off final last year, have been big disappointments in the Championship this season, and although they secured an excellent 4-0 win at home to Stoke last time out, they look value to lose at Swansea. The Rams have one only one away game all year and recently lost at the league’s bottom side, Luton Town. Swansea, meanwhile, have tightened up at the back of late and are still in with a shot at a play-off place.

Matchup: RCD Espanyol v Real Mallorca

League: La Liga
Date: Sunday, 6:00 a.m. ET

Best Bet: Raul de Tomas to score first at 11/2

La Liga’s bottom side Espanyol have wealthy Chinese owners who spent big in January to try and avoid relegation. The headline signing was Raul de Tomas from Benfica. He had scored 38 goals in his previous two season with Rayo Vallecano and has scored three in his first three games and looks great value at 11/2 to score the first goal in this six-pointer. Punters back Espanyol to have enough to get out of trouble, as evidenced by their short price of 8/13 here.

Matchup: Manchester City v West Ham United

League: Premier
Date: Sunday, 11:30 a.m. ET

Best Bet: Manchester City to win to nil at 5/6

It is tough to find value in a match featuring a 1/10 favourite, but this is a fixture that Man City utterly dominate and West Ham could be on the end of another demoralising defeat. The previous eight games between these two sides have seen 28 City goals and just three for West Ham. West Ham are in a relegation battle and so, if they go behind early, their focus may still be on defending and keeping their goal-difference respectable. City have not been thrashing teams at home very much of late, so along with a bet on them to win to nil, a couple of correct score pot-shots at 2-0 (17/2) and 3-0 (7/1) might be a good idea too.

Matchup: Inter Milan v AC Milan

League: Serie A
Date: Sunday, 12:25 p.m. ET

Best Bet: Inter Milan to win at 19/20

Note: no home advantage here as both sides share the San Siro and both sets of fans keep their traditional ends. There are 19 points separating Italy’s two greatest rivals, and although the fact that this is a derby makes for a certain amount of unpredictability, that is factored into the price. AC Milan’s big game record this year is terrible. They lost the reverse fixture 2-0 and were beaten 5-0 at Atalanta just before the winter break. They may be improving slightly, but not enough to dissuade me from backing Inter at 19/20.
