Ukraine vs. England Picks & Predictions

England qualified for the 2018 World Cup semi-finals with a fuss-free 2-0 win over Sweden, and a similar result looks likely here. Their defence has performed impeccably so far and Ukraine are not going to play particularly expansively. England to win to nil has copped in three of their four matches so far and looks good at 21/20.

For a first goalscorer bet I think Sterling makes a lot of appeal at 5/1 having scored the opener in three of England’s games so far. His international record following a disappointing World Cup has been exceptional.

Score Prediction: England 2 Ukraine 0

Betting Odds - Ukraine vs. England

Results in the last 16 have left England as the 9/4 favorites to win Euro 2020. This is the only match they will play away from Wembley, and they are 2/5 to win the match inside 90 minutes. Ukraine are 15/2 with the draw 7/2. England are 2/11 to qualify with Ukraine 7/2. Over 2.5 is an 11/10 shot with under 2.5 8/11.

Ukraine Betting Outlook

Ukraine needed a dramatic last minute extra time winner from substitute Artem Dovbyk to upset the odds and knock out Sweden in the round of 16. It was a game fairly low on quality, however, and there was little to suggest that Ukraine can upset England. However they do have a lot of good attacking options, especially wingers Ruslan Malinovskyi and Andriy Yarmolenko. They will likely try and keep it tight, but may suffer from fatigue after playing 120 minutes in their previous game.

England Betting Outlook

England have played four matches at Euro 2020. They have won three and drawn one, scoring only four but without conceding a single goal. They are the only team left with a perfect defensive record. Raheem Sterling has scored three of their goals, including the opener of their deserved 2-0 win over Germany at a raucous Wembley Stadium. They are likely to switch back from a 3-4-3 to a 4-3-3 for this match, with possible recalls for Mason Mount and Phil Foden.
