England vs. Denmark Predictions

Denmark can cause England some real problems here and can get on the scoresheet.

Their front three are not star names whoever plays, but their pace and movement has caused everyone a lot of problems. Wing-backs Jens Stryger Larsen and Joachim Maehle are menacing on the flanks.

The match prices look about right - England are in great shape right now, especially with Harry Kane coming into form for the knockout stages. But it is Kasper Dolberg, who has only started in the two knockout games for Denmark, who makes the most appeal for a first goalscorer at 9/1.

Score Prediction: England 2 Denmark 1

Denmark are +450 to win the match inside 90 minutes and +220 to get through to the final. The draw is 13/5.

Over 2.5 goals is 6/5 with Under 2.5 at 5/8.

England Betting Outlook

Gareth Southgate’s side are the only team so far not to concede at Euro 2020.

They have won four of their five games to nil and drew 0-0 with Scotland in their second group game. They breezed past a poor Ukraine side in the quarterfinals 4-0, but will face a much stiffer test from Denmark.

England reverted to a four at the back formation against Ukraine. That is their preferred strategy against weaker opposition, while 3-4-3 is the system of choice against the best sides.

It is still unclear whether Southgate will pick an attacking side on Wednesday or whether he will give the Danes more respect and match them up in their 3-4-3.

Denmark Betting Outlook

Denmark are through to the semifinals courtesy of a 2-1 win over Czech Republic.

They took the lead very early - just as they did against Belgium in their second game, and withstood a lot of second half pressure from the Czechs to get through.

They have been good in all of their matches, including their two initial defeats, and fully deserve to be where they are.

Good, fast starts have been a feature of their approach so far, and going behind is one thing that England have not experienced at a major tournament under Southgate very much.

Their switch to a 3-4-3 in the absence of Christian Eriksen has worked wonderfully.
