Brazil vs. South Korea Round of 16 Picks, Predictions, Odds

The 2022 World Cup knockout stage continues on Monday with two more games and the second Round of 16 match will pit tournament favorite Brazil against upstart South Korea. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals and face either Japan or Croatia next.

Brazil vs. South Korea Picks & Score Predictions

Monday's pairing enters the Round of 16 tie in contrasting emotions following Match Day 3.

The South Koreans mustered a 91st-minute winner against Portugal, whilst a similarly timed Cameroonian goal downed a Brazil team with their foot off the gas ever so slightly.

Despite the Korean heroics and slump in the Brazil camp, this may follow a route of business as usual for Brazil, who have won their last seven matches at this stage dating back to 1990. If the samba boys resume their imposing record in the knockouts, the odds-on selection of Over 2.5 goals may sneak in. We shouldn't see a performance from South Korea where they get their bellies tickled, but this is a Brazil team which can prove unstoppable in their stride.

At 2-1 or 3-0, we may be in for a relatively high-scoring game under the veil of South American excellence at the highest level. Again.

Score Predictions:
Brazil 2 South Korea 1 (+1000)
Brazil 3 South Korea 0 (+650)

Brazil vs. South Korea Best Bets

With the two sides capable of registering on the scoresheet and Brazil more than able to rack up a healthy number of strikes themselves, Brazil and Over 2.5 goals in the match get us to an odds-against +100 shot.

Not only will we get a Brazil landslide victory on our side with this selection, but also any scenarios where both score but Brazil comes out on top.

Game Best Bets:

Brazil Betting Outlook & Players to Watch

Head coach Tite has handed a much-needed boost to the likeliness of Brazil's star man Neymar being fit and available for action on Monday. The PSG attacker injured his ankle in his nation's curtain raiser against Serbia with ten minutes left on the clock. Nevertheless, with Neymar featuring in training ahead of the knockout clash, Brazil may be able to include him from the start.

Neymar's eight goals and eight assists in World Cup qualifying showcase his importance to his country. That smacks of lethality and creative cutting edge in equal measure to his play, alongside a forward line blessed with footballing riches. Richarlison, Raphinha and Vinicius Jr, to name just three, will be a trio to be cautious about from a South Korean point of view.

There are goals in that frontline if it clicks into gear. When we see it in full throttle, it will take a brave bettor to back against the net rustling with the level of attacking components on the pitch.

South Korea Betting Outlook & Players to Watch

Son Heung-Min will rightly command the lion's share of discussion when delving into this South Korean squad. However, the one shining light that has caught the eye in forward areas this tournament? That has to be Gue-sung Cho - South Korea's number nine, who helped himself to a headed double against Ghana.

With the likes of Wolves' Hee-Chan Hwang coming off the bench and scoring the winner against Portugal, there's a real strength in depth when considering South Korea in forward areas. And that's before Son Heung-Min's world-class technical abilities in the final third rear their head when progressing upfield in South Korean colors.
