The Los Angeles Dodgers will clash with the host San Francisco Giants on Sunday in the three-game series finale between the pair of NL West division rivals. First pitch is slated for 4:05 p.m. ET from Oracle Park. Coverage will be on each team’s regional sports channel as well as MLB.TV. 

It’ll be a matchup of lefties as Julio Urias will take the mound for the Dodgers, while Carlos Rodon will start for the Giants. Urias has a 3-5 record with a 2.78 ERA. Rodon is 4-4 with an ERA of 3.51.

The Dodgers entered the series atop the NL West while the Giants were in third place. The Dodgers are coming off winning two of three on the road vs. the Chicago White Sox in inter-league play. Meanwhile, the Giants dropped two of three recently vs. the NL West rival Colorado Rockies. 

The Dodgers defeated the Giants in the previous two contests this season. In one of those victories, Urias allowed only four hits and no runs in six innings. Urias has given up 50 hits, 10 home runs , 18 earned runs, and 15 walks while tallying 46 strikeouts in 58.1 innings. 

Rodon has allowed 52 hits, 22 walks, and only four home runs, in addition to amassing 75 strikeouts. 

Prior to the series, the Dodgers led the league in runs, while ranking near the top offensively in on-base percentage (2nd) and slugging percentage (3rd). Right fielder Mookie Betts was batting .289 with 16 home runs, and 39 RBI. First baseman Freddie Freeman had a batting average of .290 with four home runs and 33 RBI. The elite Dodgers bullpen ranked second in ERA and WHIP, as well as third in batting average. 

Leading up to the set, the Giants were fourth in runs and seventh in on-base percentage. Left fielder Joc Pederson was batting .259 with 13 home runs and 30 RBI. Second baseman Wilmer Flores has a batting average of .255 with seven home runs and 33 RBI. The struggling Giants bullpen ranked 25th in batting average, 22nd in ERA, and 19th in WHIP. 

The visiting Dodgers are favored by 1.5 runs over the Giants in the final game of the set. Heading into the series, the Dodgers had a 37-20 SU record and were 33-24 against the spread. The Dodgers were 5-1 SU in their last six contests against the Giants and 6-1 SU in their last seven road games. 

The Giants were 30-26 SU going into the set and 25-31 against the spread. San Francisco was 14-13 SU at home this season. 

The over/under is set for 8.5 runs for the afternoon contest. 

Going into the series, the total went UNDER in five of the last seven games for the Dodgers when they visited the Giants. The Dodgers had a 25-29-3 record against the spread. Heading into the series, the Giants posted a 30-24-2 record against the spread. The bats will come alive for both clubs and the OVER will occur. 

The Dodgers will cover the spread and defeat their in-state rivals to extend their lead in the division.
