The Chicago Cubs have started July on a nice 4-2 run. The impressive part about this current run is that they have faced the Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers, two playoff front runners. Now they head out West to face not just a playoff contender, but most likely World Series hopefuls.

Los Angeles is trying to expand its lead in the National League West on a nightly basis, especially with San Diego closely in the hunt. The Dodgers currently lead the division by 5.5 games, but the Padres have done this without their best offensive weapon in Fernando Tatis.

The Chicago Cubs head to Los Angeles with just 34 wins on the season, and the Dodgers will be chomping at the bit to try and keep the pressure on the Padres to keep up. The Dodgers just welcomed the Rockies to town and handed them 3 straight losses. The Dodgers are also 54-18 in their last 72 home games.

Over at SI Sportsbook, the Dodgers are listed as -275, while the comeback on the Cubs is +225 for Thursday night's contest. The level the Cubs have been playing as of late might garner some more action at that big price. A $100 wager on the Cubbies would yield a $225 return.
