Big Money on the Bengals to Win Super Bowl LVI

US Sportsbooks · Bonus Codes · Betting News · Special Update

The NFL’s annual Super Bowl has grown to become the biggest single-day sports betting event of the year. This year’s game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 13 at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Rams will represent the NFC in this year’s game. They are favored by four points across a number of the biggest US sportsbooks such as FanDuel and DraftKings. The surprising Cincinnati Bengals are this season’s AFC Champions after an amazing run to that conference’s title.

The Super Bowl draws fans from across the country and around the world. However, the Rams will still have the slight advantage of playing this game at home. They started the season as one of the favorites to win the NFC, and Los Angeles has been established as the clear favorite to win Super Bowl LVI.

The Bengals only won four games in 2020, and they opened as heavy longshots just to win their division this year. Going into the 2021 regular season, Cincinnati’s odds to win the Super Bowl were set at 125 to 1. Those odds were the longest on the board along with the New York Jets.

Everyone loves to root for the underdog, especially one that almost nobody gave a chance to play in this game. Cincinnati is now just one win away from accomplishing one of the most amazing feats in the history of the NFL.

As the bets continue to pile up in a total Super Bowl handle that will be measured in the billions, one wager stands out from all the rest. A successful Texas businessman has wagered $4.5 million on Cincinnati.

Jim McIngvale is better known as “Mattress Mack” for his bedding empire in Houston. He is also known for making some rather large wagers on his favorite team, the MLB’s Houston Astros.

Shortly after the matchup for Super Bowl LVI was set, he decided to go all in on the Bengals to win. His single $4.5 million bet is now the second biggest in Super Bowl history. A $4.9 million wager was placed on the game in 2002.

Mattress Mack did set the record for the largest mobile sports bet ever placed. Since his home state of Texas does not offer legal betting on sports, he placed this wager in neighboring Louisiana. That state just went live with legal mobile sports betting at the end of January.

The seven-figure wager was placed through the Caesars Sportsbook mobile app. Mack is going with Cincinnati straight-up on the money line at +170 odds. This would net more that $7.7 million if his hunch is right.

This is his biggest single wager to date, and Caesars confirmed that it was the largest mobile wager ever placed in the legal US sports betting industry.
