The results? Sporting events, holidays, and even the day of the week drive interest in pizza deliveries.

There you have it, the days everyone wanted the pizza the most in 2025 (so far). Saturdays and Sundays dominate the list.
While all the days had the same highest demand for pizza, some saw a substantial seasonal increase. For example, Super Bowl Sunday had a 97.74% increase from the week prior.
Meanwhile, while New Year’s day had the same amount of demand as Super Bowl Sunday, it follows the winter holiday season and social gatherings full of pizza.
Holidays make a big appearance on the list. Apparently, something about the day after Valentine’s Day gives you a hankering for some cheesy, delicious pizza.
New Year’s Day (the only non Saturday and Sunday to make the list) and the day after July 4th make the cut. Maybe everyone is too tired to cook after celebrating the holidays.
Sports play a prominent role in the list. Unsurprisingly, the Super Bowl is one of the days everyone orders pizza the most. Similarly, two March dates involving March Madness appear on the list.
Others include a range of sports like May 3rd, where UFC Fight Night, Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, NBA playoffs, NFL playoffs, and MLB regular season made for a high sports’ viewership day. August 9th and 31st are similar. However, they have the added component of falling into the busy back to school season.
Days Everyone Wants Pizza, From Most To Least
- Saturday
- Sunday
- Friday
- Monday
- Thursday
- Wednesday
- Tuesday
The data is in and weekends are for sports and pizza. For perspective, search traffic is almost twice as high on Saturdays for pizza-related searches as Tuesdays.
No wonder, 2025’s Super Bowl Sunday was one of the days everyone craved pizza the most. We don’t have data on what this year’s Super Bowl pizza delivery orders look like yet. However, judging from past years, it will be a busy night for pizza delivery drivers. So if your bets involve viewers ordering an obscene amount of pepperoni pizza, your Super Bowl odds look good.
The States That Order Pizza The Most
- Delaware
- Pennsylvania
- Michigan
- South Carolina
- Ohio
These 5 states have the highest frequency of searches for “Pizza near me.” We can’t say for certain that they are diehard fans watching the game with one first clenched and the other clutching a slice of their favorite pizza.
Maybe they are just the states that want to cook the least. However, they sure do google “Pizza near me” a lot on big game days.
Pizza And Sports Just Go Together
Let’s be honest, sports and yummy, easy to eat foods just go together. While fans might put in some extra work to make a good Super Bowl spread or other snackies occasionally, sometimes pizza is the right answer.
After all, sports are fun and recreational to watch. You know what else is fun? Not having to cook and clean for your entire gameday crew.

Methodology
This data was obtained from Google Trends for the past calendar year. We looked at Google search trends and interest for the query “Pizza near me” Users searching this term have high intent to order pizza or go get pizza, making it an ideal proxy. Related searches include Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, and other pizza joints.
From there, the daily search demand rating was calculated and we simply selected the dates with the highest number of search interest in 2025. Nine of those dates had the highest level (100). One March 29, 2025 was a hair lower (98) and included to make the list an even 10. They are presented chronologically for readability.
The average week increase simply takes the search demand from the day and compares it to the week prior. While all days had the same high demand, others took place in seasonal times with more demand for pizza and some with less. For example, New Year’s Day follows Christmas parties and other social gatherings with increased search interest in pizza. While overall interest in pizza is comparatively low prior to the Super Bowl.
The “states that order the most pizza” came directly from Google Trend and, once again, used the search term “Pizza near me.”
