EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix Picks, Predictions, Odds

The sixth race of the NASCAR circuit is a bit of a change from the first five as the road course in Austin, Texas will be showcased this Sunday.

The Circuit of the Americas or COTA as it's called, is hosting its third-ever NASCAR road course race after Chase Elliott won the debut event in 2021, followed up by Ross Chastain capturing the checkered flag in 2022.

Although Joey Logano emerged victorious in Atlanta last week for his first win of the season, it may not be a repeat for the driver of the #22 Ford. Logano placed 31st in this race last year and is winless in his previous 25 road course races.

For as great as Elliott is on road courses (six wins since 2019), he is still sidelined with a leg injury suffered in a snowboarding accident back in early March.

ECHOPARK AUTOMOTIVE GRAND PRIX BETTING ANALYSIS

What unfolded throughout the first five races obviously doesn't apply here with the road course, as several drivers have seen plenty of success at this kind of layout.

There are six road courses (COTA, Charlotte ROVAL, Indy Road Course, Watkins Glen, Road America, and Sonoma) on the NASCAR circuit and Tyler Reddick (9/1) shined at these venues in 2022.

Reddick won twice in 2022 (Road America and Indy Road Course), while finishing in the top 8 five times. In the two Texas Grand Prix races, Reddick placed 5th and 9th, as he seeks a Top-5 finish for the third straight week. Reddick actually opened at 9/1 odds, but dropped to +410 by Saturday night.

Kyle Larson (+700) was hit or miss at road courses last year with a win at Watkins Glen and a third-place finish at Road America. However, Larson also placed 35th twice on road courses in 2022 (Charlotte and Indy) and stumbled at Texas with a 29th-place finish at COTA. Larson emerged victorious at COTA in 2021, one of four road course wins dating back to 2021.

Chris Buescher (30/1) is one driver to watch on Sunday at these odds as he placed in the Top 10 in six of his last seven road course races. Of course the only race in this span he finished outside of the Top 10 came at COTA last year, when he placed 21st.

One driver who has seen long odds through each of the first five races is A.J. Allmendinger (10/1), who is suddenly tied for the fifth-highest betting choice on Sunday.

Allmendinger struggled at COTA last year with a 33rd-place finish after placing 5th in the inaugural race at this course. However, the driver of the #16 Chevrolet improved throughout 2022 on the road courses with finishes of 9th, 7th, 2nd, and 4th in his final four outings.

Austin Cindric (10/1) is coming off his best finish of the season by placing 11th in Atlanta last week. Cindric led 11 laps at the 2022 COTA race and placed 8th, while finishing in the Top 8 in four of six road course races last season.
