With Sunday’s 64-56 road loss to Rutgers, Minnesota is an even 4-4 straight-up in Big Ten play and 10-8 overall. It failed to cover as a 5 ½-point underdog to slip to 2-3 against the spread over its last five games. The total stayed UNDER 129 ½ points in Sunday’s loss after going OVER four of the Gophers’ previous five games. They won the first meeting against Ohio State 84-71 on Dec. 15 closing as 7 ½-point home underdogs.

Sophomore guard Marcus Carr scored 35 points in that game. He was held to eight points in the recent loss to Rutgers.

Ohio State fell from the national rankings in the midst of a 1-5 SU slide while going 0-6 ATS. The latest setback was Saturday’s 90-76 loss to Penn State as a one-point road favorite. The Buckeyes (12-6 SU, 10-8 ATS) were held to fewer than 60 points in four of their last six outings with the total staying UNDER in all four of those games.

Junior guard Kaleb Wesson put up 19 points in Saturday’s losing cause. He is the team’s leading scorer with 14.7 points per game.
