The Big Ten takes center stage this Sunday for betting college basketball with a trio of intriguing matchups.

Monday’s 77-66 road victory against Northwestern as a 7 ½-point favorite lifted Maryland to 5-3 straight-up and against the spread in Big Ten play. It has now covered in five of its last six games with the total staying UNDER in five of those contests. The Terrapins are 15-4 SU overall and 10-9 ATS. Jalen Smith ended Monday’s game with a career-high 25 points. Senior guard Anthony Cowan Jr. leads the team in scoring with 15.4 points per game. He added 12 points to the winning cause.

Indiana is riding high at 15-4 SU and 5-3 in conference play with Thursday’s 67-63 victory over Michigan State as a four-point home underdog. The loss to Indiana dropped the Spartans into a tie for first place in the conference standings with Illinois at 6-2. They are 14-5 SU overall. Michigan State is still a profitable 6-2 ATS in its last eight games with the total staying UNDER in the last four games. One of those wins (SU and ATS) was against Minnesota on Jan.9 in a comfortable 74-58 victory as a 12-point home favorite. The total stayed UNDER 145 points. Senior guard Cassius Winston (18.0 PPG) scored 17 points against Indiana after combining for just 16 points in his previous two starts.

Thursday’s 62-59 road upset over Ohio State as 8 ½-point underdogs raised the Golden Gophers to 5-4 (SU and ATS) in conference play. They are 11-8 SU overall with a 12-6-1 record ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in three of their last five games. Minnesota is averaging 72.2 PPG led by sophomore center Daniel Otura’s 19.7-point scoring average. He was held to 11 points on Thursday night after exceeding that average in three of his previous four starts. Otura had 22 points with 11 rebounds in the first game against the Spartans.

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Buckeyes with Thursday’s loss. They have lost six of their last seven games SU while going a costly 0-7 ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in five of those contests. Ohio State falls to 12-7 SU and 2-6 in Big Ten play. Offensively, the team has scored fewer than 60 points in five of those last seven games as opposed to its 73.2-point scoring average on the year. Junior guard Kaleb Wesson (14.0 PPG) had just two points in 32 minutes in the latest loss.

The Wildcats’ (6-12 SU, 7-10-1 ATS) lone victory in conference play against seven losses was a 62-57 home win against Nebraska on Jan. 11.
