Odds Subject to Change
The opening spread for this matchup has Baylor set as a -9.5-point favorite at home. The total line for the game is 141 points.
Kansas is 4-2 straight-up in Big 12 play with a loss to Texas at home and to Oklahoma State on the road. It has failed to cover against the spread in three of its last four games. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in four of its last five contests.
The Jayhawks are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games against Baylor but just 2-3-1 ATS in the last six meetings. The total has stayed UNDER in eight of those 10 games.
The Bears moved to 12-0 SU and 10-2 ATS with Saturday’s eight-point win against Texas Teach as four-point road favorites. The total has now stayed UNDER in their last four games and in six of their last seven outings.

Kansas will be well rested for Monday night’s showdown after Saturday’s game against Iowa State was postponed. Prior to that, the Jayhawks came up short against Oklahoma State on the road in a five-point loss as -3.5-point favorites.
Junior guard Ochai Agbaji leads Kansas in scoring with 14.7 points per game. He is one of five players averaging at least nine points a game. Forward Jalen Wilson is next on that list with 13.8 PPG. He also leads the team in rebounds (7.8).
The Jayhawks are scoring an average of 76.4 points while shooting 44.3% from the field and 36.0% from three-point range. They're pulling down an average of 41.1 rebounds and holding opposing teams to 67.5 PPG.

Baylor opened up an eight-point lead at the half it never lost in Saturday’s eight-point win. Guard Davion Mitchell had the hottest hand with 19 points to keep the Bears perfect on the year.
Guard Jared Butler remains the team’s top scorer with 15.6 PPG with guard MaCio Teague a close second (15.3 points). Mitchell (12.1 points) is third on that list while leading the way in assists (5.9).
The Bears are averaging 87.3 PPG and shooting a solid 50.2% from the field. This includes a 42.3 shooting percentage from three-point range. Defense remains Baylor’s strong suit. It's holding opposing teams to 61.1 points a game and to 30% shooting beyond the three-point line.

Kansas-Baylor Predictions
As the two best teams in the Big 12 this season, Monday’s winner gets the early edge for the regular season conference title. I'm giving Baylor the slight edge playing at home.
Last year’s loss to Kansas was the only setback in its last 20 home games. The best bet would be Kansas and the 9.5-points in a game that will not be decided until late in the second half.
Each of these teams will look to put on a show in front of the national audience on ESPN. This should lead to more of a shootout than a defensive battle. This also opens the door to a play on the OVER betting the total line.
- Score Prediction: Baylor 79 Kansas 76
- Best Bets: Kansas +9.5
- Best Bets: OVER
